Carbon Credit Monitoring Capability

We have been working on taking several of our existing remote sensing capabilities, paired with the AI built into Agrisource Data’s AgClarity, to create options to support the carbon credit market through providing:

1. Due Diligence Packages which examine the historical land use, existence of virgin or managed forest, crop production, etc. to determine suitability for inclusion in certain carbon credit schemes.

2. Carbon Credit compliance monitoring to ensure ongoing adherence to carbon credit requirements for long term vegetation (forestry) areas including monitoring for logging, clearing, tree health and vegetation density changes which might impact an area’s actual carbon capture potential.

3. Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) of Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) in traditional cropland by using remote sensing techniques to augment and scale in-field soil samples during times of vegetation absence or die-off.

Strong correlations between soil surface reflectance and estimated SOC from soil samples allows us to scale acreage indefinitely at a fraction of the cost of traditional MRV. By aggregating this data over a much larger area and different geographies, it is likely our proprietary AI will allow us to begin forecasting SOC levels into the near and mid-term future setting up greater ability for carbon trading, options and futures.

AgriTech Global acts as an independent third party auditor that utilizes our modern satellite imaging artificial intelligence tools to help farmers and forest owners accurately measure the oxygen that is being generated from their land so that they can offer their verified oxygen generation to carbon credit brokers to be traded globally. Once a carbon credit project is operating, the carbon reductions that it generates are “verified.” This time, an accredited third party reviews actual project operation data—energy production, gas flows, and so on—to determine the number of tons that were reduced and, as a result, are issued by the standard as offsets. Because verification can add significantly to the cost of small projects, AgriTech Global tends to verify performance after their first year of operation (to make sure the project is performing as planned) and then again several years later (to confirm that any estimated offsets that have been sold are supported by proven reductions).
The end result? You know that your carbon offsets are real and permanent.
