QUIZ: Is your website stuck in 1994?

If your uncle/nephew/neighbor who is "good with computers" made it pro-bono, then the answer is probably YES.

If you haven't given it a good update in over two years (even though that's not *technically* 1994), then the answer is probably YES.

If you've never even considered the importance of an ADA compliant website, then the answer is probably YES.

If SEO was about putting all the important keywords in the meta description, then the answers is probably YES.

If you are in the mindset that your awesome product overules the difficulty of what your customers have to go through to figure out how to book with you, then the answer is probably YES.

If you answered YES to any of the above questions then - Go into 2021 swinging and do yourself (and your future customers) a favor and update that schniz-nit! Your future cutomers are out there jonesing for some travel. Make it easy for them to find, trust, and book with you.

Send me a DM if you need some help updating from 1994!

✅People love a good checklist so why not give them yours? (And create a strong lead magnet in the meantime.)

Attracting new clients can be tricky. People usually don’t look then book right away. It takes them time to warm up to what you offer.

Create a checklist that your future guests and clients are looking for and retarget them so that these lukewarm leads become warm leads and your offerings stay top of mind.

✈ What else do you spend money on that actually makes you richer?

Travel feeds the soul and gives you better returns than any financial investment.

Trust is your best ally when building relationships with your customers.

By responding to comments using direct messages you establish a personal and trustworthy connection.

Humans have a tendency to not buy the cheapest product on the market but the one that they most trust and connect with.

Go beyond responding to comments with a “❤️”or generic, quick response and send an honest, non-salesy DM. Your efforts will be rewarded.

Let me know in the comments how you are using DMs to connect with your audience.

Today’s the day. 🗳 If you are a US citizen I encourage you to mask up and get out and vote, if you haven’t done so already.

There’s a lot at stake for travelers during this election. Climate, infrastructure, borders, the economy, and of course, the pandemic.

Your voice matters and your opinion counts. 🗳🗳🗳

📷Posing a gorgeous photo on your account without a CTA in the caption might be great for random likes but it does nothing for gaining new clients.

💪It’s time to stop being ON social media and start USING social media!

📈The truth is that if you want to use Instagram and other social media platforms to grow your business then you should consider the captions on your posts as a strategic way of reaching out to your audience.

📣The best practice for USING social media takes a 3 prong approach:

1️⃣Intrigue your audience. This is when you write a great hook statement in the first line of the caption.

2️⃣Inform your audience. This is when you get to elaborate on the intrigue and tell people why they should care or add a little backstory or history that rounds out the intrigue. Stories sell!

3️⃣Instruct your audience. This is when you tell people to engage with you. It’s your CTA (call to action) and the most important part about building a connection. Do you want people to share the post with someone they want to travel with? Do you want them to DM you about booking? Do you want them to save the post to refer back to later?

This seems so basic, I know, but you really must break it down for your audience and tell them exactly what to do.

Let me know in the comments if this was helpful.

People are dreaming of the first trip they’re going to take when travel restarts.

Your customers have some seriously built up wanderlust right now and they are waiting for the day that they feel safe enough to travel again. Because this pandemic is keeping things in a constant flux it is hard to say when that is going to be.

Some people won't feel safe until a vaccine comes out. Some people think that rapid testing in airports and destination is the way to control the spread and help people feel safer.

In either case it is imperative that you, as a small business tourism professional, stay diligent and consistent in your efforts to reach out to your past, existing and future customers and provide reassurance that you will be there for them when the time is right to travel again.

These efforts should be on social media, in emails and on updates to your website.

How are you staying in touch with your audience? Let me know in the comments.

There’s no one customers will trust more than other customers.

Like it or not, the past decade has seen a staggering change in the way that consumers perceive brands. No longer are products and experiences easy-sells to the masses through sickly sweet TV commercials – people have become increasingly aware of and discerning about how they are being sold to. On...

📱What’s that moment, on your tour, when everybody takes out their phone to make a photo?

THAT!

That is what you want to highlight in your listing.

When was the last time you updated the activity descriptions on your website?

Spend some time and make sure that you are featuring and highlighting the moment that most delights your guests.

✅Be descriptive and tell the story of what it’s like for guests in that moment.

✅Use gorgeous, jaw dropping, professional imagery.

✅Place you booking button right there so your future customers don’t have to hunt to book with you.
