I’m incredibly honored to receive the PeopleForBikes Outstanding Service Award at this year’s Bicycle Leadership Conference.
My journey with PFB started over 10 years ago, organizing 10-15 cycling focused DRAFT networking events in Park City, Utah. From there I joined the Membership, Events, Education and Marketing Subcommittee in 2019. Helped start the Apparel Working Group this past year with Cassie Abel from Wild Rye. I’ve also been lucky enough to help with other groups like BLC Content Committee and more.
I would say the theme of this week’s BLC was creating "human value." As marketers and founders, we often get buried in P&Ls, but the real goal is building a great society through the sports we love. My ask to the industry is simple: Show up, speak up, get involved.
Huge thanks to the team including Jenn Dice, Jose Maldonado, and Ashley (Ash) Lovell, Ph.D. for the recognition and for everything you do to move this industry forward. And also to the team at Akers Digital; Chelsea Grove, Bethany Donovan and Luke Paulson for all of the support.
It was a privilege to be recognized alongside other industry leaders including:
Lifetime Achievement Award: Erik Saltvold, Founder + Owner,
Rising Star Award:Alicia Applegate, Head of Action Sports Merchandising,
Catalyst Award: Ken Lousberg, CEO,
PeopleForBikes Foundation Award: Amy Koch, Director of Mass Sales,
