I know it may not seem like a big deal to some, but I conquered my fear and swam with dolphins. Well, one dolphin. Her name was Belle and she was the sweetest and had so much personality! I had wanted to do this for a while, but for some reason terrified to actually do it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe it’s because they are wild animals, maybe because being in the ocean is also one of my other biggest fears 🤣

One of my goals this year is to step out of my comfort zone. To push myself beyond my norm. Well I swam with the dolphins and so very glad I did. It truly was such an amazing experience. I don’t know if they are all like Belle, but she was so sweet and a little bit of a rebel. So glad that I did push myself out of my comfort zone and got to experience this. It is something that I will remember forever. Now, I feel a little more comfortable and like maybe I can pick something else to overcome! Nothing wrong with doing one thing at a time 👍

My kids are my world. I try to spend as much time as I can with them. Before I know it, they will be married and off on a life of their own and not need me as much. I have watched them grow and change before my eyes and blown away by the little humans they are. They drive me crazy, some might even say psychotic 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

This time of year always gets stressful. Trying squeeze in all the family visits, school functions, my daughters birthday 5 days before Christmas, Thanksgiving and Christmas activities and cooking....that sometimes I forget to stop and just slow my roll. Take a deep breathe and look around me. My house doesn’t need to be perfect for my guest, I don’t have to have all my ish together right now, it’s ok if I’m running a few minutes for something, I don’t have to agree to do everything that is asked of me. Sometimes, I need to put myself first. So I can be the best human for my kids. This holiday season, just slow down and appreciate your family. Even your in laws! Love life to the fullest and don’t take anything for granted. Eat that extra piece of pie! Have that glass of wine as you wrap those presents! Spend time with your kiddos, spend the time with your parents, spend time with your family. Don’t let the holiday stresses get the best of you!

1. You don’t need to pay for ads. You can be successful without spending the money on ads. 📈
* Yes and no. It is important to run ads. Why? Because you can create a target audience and only have people who have common interest with your product see the ad. You spend the money in the right places and not waste it on people who have no interest in what you have to offer. You don’t have to spend a fortune either. You can do just $5 a day. You control how much you spend, and you can see if it’s working or if you need to change up your audience a little.
Now, you can choose to not run ads, which is fine as well. However, Facebook and Instagram have made it harder for smaller pages to reach people organically. If you are just starting out, it might be harder for people to see your page, because social media platforms are putting the more popular pages with higher followers above pages with fewer followers.

2. The more you post the more people’s attention you will get. 💻
* Again, yes and no. Yes, being present on social media is important. But posting too much will have people by pass your page or block your post. Your page isn’t the only one people are following! You have to find your happy medium. During special events or promos you have coming up, you can increase your posts to help the word get out! But still keep it within reason and don’t get obnoxious 😬. It’s all about balance.

3. Running pages on social media take so much of your time. ⌚️
* In the beginning while you are getting your page set up and running, it does take a little more time. But once you get in the swing of things, it shouldn’t take hours out of your day! Yes, I am constantly working and on my phone, but it’s on my time and when I can do it, waiting on my kids to get out of school, the waiting room at appointments, at the salon, whenever I have a moment I am working! I work around my own schedule and do most of it from my phone!

The road to success isn’t easy, but it’s not impossible! I have been so busy helping other businesses get their social media up and running that I haven’t had time to stay on top of mine! 🤷🏼‍♀️ But that is ok! Helping businesses grow to their fullest potential is amazing.

People ask me all the time why I decided to live in a place where it gets in the 120s in the summer time when I can’t stand being in shorts or bathing suits 🤷‍♀️ Well one, because I live in paradise, on the beautiful Colorado River, it’s a safe small town and it’s about doing what’s best for me and my kids. I had to get out of my comfort zone. I HAD to put those shorts on....and that bathing suit. And it was the best thing I did. I came out of my shell and was almost a totally new person. I had more confidence in myself.

Now I have taken that next step into starting my own business. Why? Well one because I enjoy it, but I enjoy helping others come out of their shell too and build their own confidence.
