It’s AAPI Heritage Month AND Mental Health Awareness Month, & I fu***ng love & appreciate the space I’m in. ❤️🔥 For the longest time I was the youngest in the room, the only brown person, the only woman, & more often than not, literally & physically the smallest lol. You can only imagine the extra feat it took to take up space, to be seen, to be heard, recognized.. until I realized this wasn’t it. So I said eff thisss & created my own world. Then BOOM, became a magnet for like-minded creators, innovators, servant leaders.
I may not fit into society’s mold of what a “normal” entrepreneur should be, but am deeply grateful to have found community in fellow disruptors doing incredible s**t for this world. It’s been 14 years since I started this adventure of failing forward. The ups have been high, the downs have been low, but through it all, my small business has been my baby. As a differently-abled human with my own ridiculous brain chemistry, I see the world a little differently, but that’s what makes my work unique. I can create in ways that most others can’t (even I myself believed I couldn’t), & that’s what I’m celebrating in spite of it all.
But let’s be real for a hot minute. Being a BIPOC & AAPI founder is tough, & mental health is no joke. As we honor Mental Health Awareness together, I want to remind you to take care of yourself. As a small biz owner, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle. Take breaks, go for a walk, call a friend, & give yourself a pat on the back every now & then. You’re doing great, sweetie. 😘
Since I rebranded to my LLC in 2019, I’ve grossed over $55K for JCC - that’s just the taxable portion (; I’m grateful for all who’ve supported me on this journey, from my amazing team to my wonderful clients to my family & vibe tribe. Thank you for seeing me, believing in me, & helping me get to where I am today. Here’s to many more years of creating, innovating, & being delusional. 🚀 🪐
