Amplify is a powerful documentary produced by the Allegra Consulting Oral History Team, giving voice to the people and families displaced by Freeway construction in Pasadena, California. Through firsthand accounts, archival footage, and in-depth interviews, this film uncovers the profound impact of freeway expansion on historically Black, Latino, and Japanese American communities.

Featuring the stories of those who lost their homes, businesses, and cultural landmarks, Amplify highlights the resilience of displaced residents and the generational effects of forced relocation. The documentary sheds light on themes of racial discrimination, redlining, and the loss of generational wealth while honoring the strength of the communities that fought to preserve their identity.

Amplify: Oral Histories of Life Along the 710—produced for the City of Pasadena—has received a 2025 Gold MarCom Award and a 2025 Davey Award.

The 38-minute documentary preserves the lived experiences of families and businesses displaced by the SR-710 freeway, centering truth-telling, memory, and resilience in communities too often left out of the historical record.
