Rest in power to my dear brother-in-arms, Harry Belafonte. From our time coming up, struggling to make it in NY in the 50’s with our brother Sidney Poitier, to our work on “We Are The World” & everything in between, you were the standard bearer for what it meant to be an artist/activist. For those who had no voice & those who seemingly had no hope, you made the world a better place, Harry, & there can be no higher calling than that. God bless you & please give our other brothers a long-awaited hug from me as well ❤️

NABJ-LA Black Men In Media forum yesterday was a must attend event. A Standing Room Only audience was treated to an an informative discussion. Kudos to the chapter for continuing to host outstanding media discussions.

I attended the 2017 National Association of Black Journalists Convention in New Orleans. It was fun seeing many of my colleagues.

I connected with several new colleagues.
I am looking forward to foster several of the relationships which began this past weekend.

Our Media Related Task Force Meeting was a standing room only event. We are planning our media institute to take place in March 2018 in Los Angeles.

Our participation in the OWN TV event was a smashing success. This event is getting larger every year.

The inaugural Purse Auction was very well attended and will be bigger next year. My good friend Terry Allen is doing an outstanding job leading this scholarship fundraiser.
