How long do you think a photography studio keeps your images after your session?
A month? A year? Five years?
Some photographers don’t keep archives at all.
Recently, a longtime Buller Photography client called us about photographs we had created at her wedding in 2016.
Her mother had just passed away.
In the middle of grieving, the family suddenly needed photographs of happier days—images of her mother smiling, celebrating, surrounded by the people she loved.
She asked us a simple question:
“Do you still have our wedding photographs?”
We were saddened by the reason she was calling, but grateful that we could say:
Yes. We do.
For one brief moment during an incredibly difficult time, she didn’t have to worry about finding those memories. They were still here.
And she isn’t the only one.
Over the years, many former clients have contacted us looking for a photograph created long ago—sometimes because a print was damaged, sometimes because children have grown, and sometimes because someone they love is no longer here.
That is why Janet and Sandy Buller have archived and organized every Buller Photography session from our earliest years in 2004 through today.
We never know when an ordinary photograph may someday become an extraordinary treasure.
A portrait you enjoy today may become the photograph your children cherish decades from now.
That matters when you choose who to trust with portraits of yourself, your pets, your high school senior, your parents, or your family.
We’re now booking fall portrait sessions.
Perhaps this is the season to create something special—not simply for today, but for the years and memories still to come.
And should that rare day ever arrive when you desperately need a photograph we created years ago…
we intend for it to still be here.
