Some ways to make the internet a safer place for adults and kids:

1. Be a role model online
2. Talk to kids about being kind on and off the internet
3. Learn how to travel the Internet Highway safely and responsibly and teach your children
4. Secure and protect your online image and reputation
5. Don’t share harmful content
6. Review and update your browser security settings
7. Use two-factor authentication on all of your online accounts
8. Report inappropriate online behavior and content to the proper individuals (i.e., webmaster, police, etc…)
9. Block inappropriate content
10. Have fun, be creative!

When you install something, watch what you’re doing instead of just NEXT, NEXT, NEXT through everything. A lot of programs will install annoying toolbars by default, which take up space on your screen and are difficult to remove. You could also end up accidentally installing other annoying or potentially harmful software.
