Velomobiles are unique vehicles that attract attention everywhere they go even in the countries where they are made and are very popular. They want the chance to drive one. I want to give the people in Houston, Pearland, Friendswood, Alvin, and Clear Lake that opportunity. Pearla
nd Velos is an idea whose time has come. One day in 2006 I was balancing my checking account and discovered that I was spending more than half of my paycheck in fuel cost to and from work. This sent me on a quest to find an alternative means of transportation. My first solution was to buy a motorcycle; however, by 2008 I was spending the same amount monthly to ride my motorcycle as I had while driving a car. My next solution was to buy an electric vehicle. I could not drive 48 miles to work on an electric bicycle, and an electric car was completely out of my price range. The electric cars at this time did not have any financing available through normal sources either. While looking for an alternative, I thought back to when I was a child, and I clearly remember a day on the Price is Right when one of the prizes was a pedal car for adults. This struck a chord in my mind and I sought out these pedal cars on the internet until it led me to Europe, and the Velomobile Community. These vehicles are terribly expensive, around $8,000.00 for a base model, more for one with an electric assist option. The folks at go-one (1) told me that they had no financing available and suggested that I find a company willing to subsidize me by placing an ad on vehicle that I purchase from them. The light bulb went off and I knew I could get ads if I could get the vehicle...
