Did you know it costs 3.69 cents to make and distribute a 1-cent penny? That means every time the government mints a new one, they’re burning 2.69 cents for something most of us don’t even use anymore.
Well, they’ve finally decided to stop making them—because at some point, tradition isn’t a good enough reason to keep losing money.
Which got us thinking… how many pennies are we still minting in our businesses? 🤔
How many things do we keep offering, producing, or spending time on not because they’re profitable, but because they’re comfortable?
💰 That service or product that no one really buys anymore.
💰 That time-consuming process that eats up resources but doesn’t bring in revenue.
💰 That “we’ve always done it this way” task that’s just… well, outdated.
Every business has its pennies - things that cost more than they’re worth, but we keep doing them anyway.
Maybe it’s time to quit minting them.
