Brand Photography Tips 📸 from the perspective of a Branding + Web Designer 👩🏽‍💻

Don’t come for me! It’s no secret that I’m not a photographer. (Tried that route before I got into design but that’s a different story for another day)

I’ve had multiple brand photoshoots over the years - as well as experience on the other side, utilizing the photos through brand assets and websites for clients.

I can’t tell you about shutter speeds and poses and lighting and locations.

→ But what I can tell you is a few practical tips from my unique perspective to get brand photos that you will love and use for years to come.

Always have been & always will be 🙏🏼🎨

I have to pinch myself sometimes that people pay me to literally create.

I get to spend my days using my God-given gifts and talents to create for other incredible women founders, helping them build business that light them up just as much as my business does to me.

And in turn, they’re able to do the same thing for other women. Just freaking incredible.

Don’t stop working towards the thing that sets your soul on fire. It’s so so worth it.

If it’s for EVERYONE 👉 then it’s for NO ONE

Listen I know the thought of some people not liking your brand can feel scary and uncomfy. We feel like we’re always supposed to make everyone happy - water ourselves down to make sure that we’re as “likable” as possible.

But here’s the thing about building a brand that you feel SO deeply connected to and aligned with that it feels like an extension of YOU - you SHOULDN’T want EVERYONE to vibe with it.

👉 You should be getting so specifically clear about the type of person that you LOVE to work with / surround yourself with - and then crafting your brand to resonate with them.

If your brand is doing its job - then some people WON’T connect with it. And that’s a good thing.

If your current branding looks nice but doesn’t feel strategic, cohesive, or reflective of what makes you and your business unique, it may be time for a more intentional approach.
