The topic of the day?

Designing with Intent: Get Summer-Ready Without Reinventing Your Brand.

I’ll be walking through my four principles I use when creating any design before I even touch my computer, and how you can implement them in everything you create for your business.

This isn’t about completely reinventing what you have or starting over. It’s about taking what you have and making it that much better so you can better promote your events, sell your products/services, and bring awareness to your business.

This Thursday, I’m throwing it back to one of my favorite branding projects that was done for Mossy Frog Copy.

These cute illustrations were inspired by Gabriella’s favorite book series growing up, Frog and Toad.

To bring these to life, I started out with illustration mockups on paper that were then transferred into Illustrator and brought to life with color, and hand drawn elements.

Gabriella wanted her brand to feel natural, simple, and a little quirky just like her personality, so these illustrations were a nice addition to bring humor and humanity to her print and digital collateral.

Love your visuals but keep attracting clients who can’t afford you?

Find yourself over-explaining your business in every single conversation?

Invested a lot of money in a rebrand but still feel like there’s something missing or off?

These aren’t design problems.

They’re what keeps happening when you try to build a brand for everyone, because…

You’re anxious about how someone else might judge the real you.

You’re scared of leaving money on the table.

You don’t want to admit you might be targeting the wrong group.

And when you hide behind trends, corporate professionalism, and what you think people might say about you, you’re only doing a disservice to the people you’re meant to help.

Whether that means swearing like a sailor as part of your copy, using “girly” colors as a professional consultant, or building a client experience that’s as thoughtful as coming to a friend’s house for dinner, don’t hesitate to use what makes your brand unique as a selling point.

Your brand only works when it’s actually yours.

What makes this so meaningful isn’t just the awards. This past year has been a season of clarity and rebuilding. I refined my services, leaned fully into my creative identity, and committed to showing up consistently. So much of this work happens behind the scenes, from the late nights and the self-doubt to the learning and breakthroughs to the recommitting again and again.

And the whole time, this community showed up with me.

You shared my work. You sent referrals. You trusted me with your brands and websites. You voted. You believed in what I’m building, even in moments when I was still figuring it out myself.

I’m endlessly grateful.
