Looking to learn something new this summer?

Meridian Technology Center is bringing a variety of learning opportunities right here to Perry! From CPR and First Aid certification to Canva Basics, Generative AI, Drone Pilot Certification Training, computer skills, and even cooking classes, there's something for everyone.

All classes will be held at the Meridian Technology Center satellite classrooms in Perry, making it easy to expand your skills close to home.

Learn a new career and work in a beautiful, busy and fun environment. Experience helpful, but we will train you! Position is year round 4 full days a week (8-5:30) and 1 or sometimes 2 Saturdays a month. Sat. hours are 8-3 but only 8-1 in summer. Average total 35 to 38 hours a week.
That means you still get a full day off during the week to do errands or whatever you like!

Position includes: customer service, delivering, fresh floral design, ordering, stocking, cleaning, display and more! Will be on your feet for extended time, sometimes most of the day, & lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
We offer: 40% Store discounts, paid vacation & paid holidays, starting pay $15 an hour.
Need to be a quick learner who can multi-task. Must have strong work ethics, be over 20 and have a drivers license, be self-motivated, helpful and friendly. Excellent customer service and phone skills are a must.

The Perry Chamber of Commerce office will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Their sacrifice made the freedoms we enjoy every day possible, and we are deeply grateful for their courage and service.

We wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Today marks the first anniversary of the City of Perry officially proclaiming May 15th as “Al Wise Day” — a day dedicated to honoring a man who became a symbol of kindness, friendship, and hometown pride in our community.

To continue honoring Al’s legacy, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce plans for a very special community project: a bronze statue of Al Wise sitting on his bench, waving to friends and neighbors just as we all remember him.

This project is about more than a statue. It’s about preserving a piece of Perry’s heart for future generations. Al’s daily waves, warm smile, and steady presence reminded all of us what makes small-town life so special.

The Chamber will be spearheading fundraising efforts for the project. We will soon establish tax-deductible donation accounts at First Bank & Trust and Exchange Bank so community members can help bring this dream to life. While donations are not being accepted just yet, we wanted to share the vision with the community on Al Wise Day and invite everyone to celebrate what this project will mean for Perry.

We cannot wait to honor Al in a lasting way — right where he belongs, welcoming people to downtown Perry with a wave. ❤️
