It's Follow Friday!

Today we'd like to recommend giving a follow to United Partners - Pflugerville. They're a great organization offering arts and crafts programs for people with disabilities. They sell their work on Etsy and at craft fairs in the Pflugerville area. Give them a follow!

It's What Are You Reading Wednesday again!

Jenni is still reading Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler (paperback) and The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook by Matt Dinniman (audiobook). She also recently finished Golden Rage (graphic novel, eBook) volumes 1 and 2 by Chrissy Williams, Lauren Knight, Sofie Dodgson, and Becca Carey.

Ripley is still reading The Butcher's Masquerade by Matt Dinniman (audiobook).

What's everyone else reading? Show and tell in the comments!

That's all right, we're here to help!

I've been hearing some rumblings the last few months about changes to the Instagram algorithm that are resulting in lower Reach, so I thought I'd dig into this to see what I could learn.

There have been a number of changes throughout the year, but that third one is where accounts are feeling the impact. The tl;dr is: follower count is no longer the end-all, be-all. Watch time, profile clicks, & saves are now more important.

Guess that means we have a few more metrics to monitor.

I've been saying for a while that my greatest professional skill is that I'm an expert mimic. Sometimes (often) I'm able to use that skill to make silly stuff for my clients.

btw, if you want to preorder ACOTAR book 6, order through The Book Burrow !

I love seeing the way my own work has grown, changed, and improved.

The bottom image was the website homepage we put together for a client less than a year ago. The top image is the new and improved homepage we launched last week.

Sometimes you just have to look at the work that's been done and say "I can do better now," and then do better now.

Ripley made this video for The Book Burrow's upcoming Tolkien Week.

I've watched it 100 times and it still makes me laugh. 😆 I love that we can have fun with the work we do!

If you're local to the Austin area, be sure to check out Tolkien Week, September 20 - 26!

Okay so the first character is a burned out formerly gifted child that never lived up to her promise, and the second...

Wait, that's not what they meant.
