Myriad Magnetic, a specialist in analog tape recorder rebuilding and circuit board repairs, sought to establish a strong brand identity and online presence that reflected their technical expertise and dedication to excellence.

AAJdesign designed a compelling brand identity and built a user-friendly website for Myriad Magnetic. The logo, inspired by the sine wave, which is essential in calibrating tape recorders, symbolizes the brand’s dedication to precision and quality. We designed a website to display Myriad Magnetic’s services and highlight their passion for analog recording technology. The brand’s new identity and website have received positive feedback, enhancing its online presence and effectively showcasing Myriad Magnetic’s expertise.

For over 80 years, the PYO Music Institute has delivered electrifying and inspiring performances that not only span throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, but the world. The PYO Music Institute organizes and develops nine different musical programs for young musicians in and around Philadelphia, including the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra.

In a collaborative effort with Edgimo - Web Communications, AAJdesign delivered a homepage refresh for the PYO Music Institute's website, alongside various sub-page treatments and a logo animation.

AAJdesign created a print and online ESG report that reinforced who Novocure is through their mission, vision and values—which are inextricably linked to their commitment to patients. The American Association for Cancer Research is the world’s oldest and largest science organization devoted to cancer research. Its mission is “to prevent and cure cancer through research, education, communication, and collaboration.”

Guided by the AACR’s emphasis on research and the collective strength of the organization’s premier membership, we developed and designed a new brand identity system and dynamic new website supported by the tagline “Finding Cures Together.” The new logotype is simple, bold, and easy to apply. The linked green ‘R’ and black ‘C’ reflect the inextricable link between research and the goal of eradicating cancer.

For most of its 160+ years, the “Grand Old Lady of Locust Street,” has been at the center of music and culture in the Philadelphia area. Owned by The Philadelphia Orchestra Association, this iconic landmark, prior to COVID, celebrated its anniversary each year with a themed concert and ball. AAJdesign created a new identity for the Academy based on an original front elevation drawing of the building. We have also designed the materials surrounding the Academy’s fundraising efforts, including the Academy Concert and Ball. As part of that process, we took extensive photographs of the renovations and preservation initiatives, highlighting these projects throughout the materials.

When the Philadelphia College of Art and the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts merged in 1987 to become The University of the Arts, the new school was granted university status. Today, it is the only university devoted to the arts that offers programs in design, fine arts, crafts, music, dance, theater, and writing. AAJdesign created a comprehensive brand identity system that tied the University together visually—signed with a new moniker: “Advancing Human Creativity”.

Katherine Hollander Interviews Elaine Johanson About “AND AND” For Tupelo Quarterly

Elaine Johanson is a Philadelphia based writer and artist. She recently published And And, a chapbook of poems and photographs, with photographer and designer Jan C. Almquist.

"Writing this book allowed me to think about the Korean War from a broad perspective as well as an incredibly intimate, of-the-moment one. But the events I wrote about were almost entirely decades in the past. Today, I think about: what story am I writing with my actions? How can I add to the thread of strength and perseverance lived by my mother, grandmother, and ancestors? Writing this book was about understanding and owning the story I belong to. I want to continue that story in a way that honors what has been lived before."
