We’re excited to work with The Philadelphia Regional Center for Children’s Environmental Health (PRCCEH) on the development of their new website!

PRCCEH is a joint program of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Penn Medicine. They aim to increase awareness by disseminating children's environmental health knowledge to healthcare providers, community members, and policymakers.

We are working with them to develop and simplify their site map to ensure it’s easy for visitors to navigate and find what they need in as few clicks as possible. One way we’ve done this is to create a more filterable search experience and a simplified, more intuitive navigation menu. We are currently in the draft phase and on track to launch in late February. We can't wait to share it with you!

As if working with wasn’t enough of a delight already, I arrived home today to this scrumptious box of goodies on my porch. My expectations were sky high after staring at photos of their creations for months 🤤 while designing the website, but boy were they exceeded. 😍 The cupcake box was obviously full when it arrived but me and the kids tore through 2 of them before I thought “hey I should probably capture this for social media before it’s too late.”

Thanks Zoe and Brennen! You guys are just wonderful 💯🙏🏻

So excited about launching a 🔥new site with a few weeks ago! This Fishtown-based bakeshop has a long list of accolades: they've made cakes for Bruce Springsteen, Drew Barrymore, Questlove and Bryce Harper, had their cookies held by Deion Sanders in a 2012 Superbowl ad, and been named one of the top wedding cake pros by Martha Stewart Weddings.

But behind this thriving brand is pair of wonderful human beings, Zoë and Brennen, who have been just a delight to work with from start to finish.

From their About Us:
"With a sweet tooth, an art degree, and the help of my husband Brennen, I opened Whipped Bakeshop in 2009, a long-time goal. Since that time, we’ve made thousands of amazing cakes and we’ve had a blast making our customers’ dessert dreams come true. We have never stopped striving to evolve Whipped Bakeshop into more of what we – and you – love."

Since they're appointment-only (even before COVID), they needed a website to deliver the full experience people expect from a lovely little bakeshop. So we built a user-friendly e-commerce site that captures the joy, elegance, and modernity of their brand.

In the three weeks since launch, they've received 167 e-commerce orders, 118 custom cake inquiries, and 23 wedding cake inquiries. Average session duration increased from 1:38 to 2:29 compared to the previous site, pageviews per session increased by 90% and the bounce rate decreased 25%.

Get yo sweets on!

Had a great time building a new website for Peters Valley School of Craft, a lovely organization located in a historical village in the heart of the Delaware Water Gap. They believe in the transformative power of craft and are on a mission to help people from all walks of life discover craft artistry.

2020 was a big curveball in their plans, but they took the time to reimagine their online presence and are now ready to hit the ground running as they reopen registration for 2021 workshops!

They offer immersive multi-day workshops on their campus in all kinds of craft disciplines, from blacksmithing to ceramics to jewelry making for adults as well as youth. Their small classes and open-air environments allows them to safely welcome students back to campus.

So if you have a creative itch and are ready to leave your house sometime this year, check these awesome people out. 👆🏻

Wonderful working with you, ! And always great to collaborate with Ennis Carter of !

What's the 🔑 to creating worthwhile content as a business owner? Simple, start answering the questions your clients are already asking you!

There is a terrible misunderstanding among many small business owners that marketing is just about getting attention. If you get someone's attention, you need to deliver value and gain trust. Annoying people in order to get their attention is a bad game plan.

A huge amount of your workday is wasted changing from one task to the next. Every time you start a new task, it takes time and energy to break the inertia to get those creative juices flowing.

The less time you burn jumping in and out of tasks, the more attention you have available for deep, important work.

So whenever possible, I try to batch tasks along with other similar tasks. If I have a big project to work on this week, I'd rather have two uninterrupted 4-hours chunks than a bunch of smaller chunks scattered around every day of the week.

And yes, I recently read Cal Newport's Deep Work and am . 😤

I've worked at a lot of nonprofits over the years and there's a common challenge most of them face: needing to appease funders while also serving their beneficiaries. For some organizations, these two groups are closely aligned, but for the majority, there is some notable discrepancy between these two groups.

How you manage that gap may be one of the most important decisions you make in keeping your organization viable in the long run. Let's talk about how that can be done with integrity.

Aww heck yeah. This 🔥 mask arrived the mail yesterday from my dear friends/clients over at and I’m pumped. They launched these on their e-commerce store last week and the huge response briefly blew up the site due to some unfortunately timed server glitches. We got it back up eventually and they were awesomely patient the whole way through. Then sent me this lovely mask and card, which made my day. Now staying safe in style 🙌🏻😷

One of my personal favorite ways to waste time is messing around with shiny new tools that promise to save time.

My work schedule has been condensed significantly since my kids' schools closed down, which has made it more important than ever to wisely use the hours I have available for work. A few weekends ago I took some time to do a full revamp of the systems I used to manage my schedule, tasks, and projects. I didn't really have the time to spare but it needed to be done.

After spinning in circles for a bit and chasing a bunch of overly complex systems, I finally took a moment to define what makes a productivity app/tool/system worthwhile.

Here are the Productivity Principals I came up with:
1. Simple is sustainable
2. Productivity tools need to solve a specific problem
3. Need a quick way to get things out of your head
4. Need to be reliable
5. Using tools for what they're best at, not trying to force everything on to a single platform
6. Does it bring me joy?

Shoutout to , a wonderful, high-impact group of people dedicated to improving the health and vitality of the watershed with programs in education, stewardship, restoration, and advocacy. 👏

I've had a blast managing their website for the past three years or so and a member of their Partner Alliance, a group of businesses who like cool things like healthy watersheds. 🤓

TTF Watershed is also the kind of group that isn't just sitting on their hands waiting for the lockdown to pass. They just put out a great resource, "Connected During Coronavirus," full of activities and opportunities called during the lockdown, from cleanup kits (gloves, trashgrabber, bags, and a TTF bandanna) to education webinars, seeds, and coloring pages for kids.

Check it out!

Our environments play a major role in triggering our habits, both good and bad. My home office used to be an afterthought, but now that I'm using it every day, I'm slowly creating the space I need to be as focused and creative as possible.

I try to do the vast majority of my work in my home office. Why? Because if I’d spend half the day working from the couch and the other half working from my bed, I have nowhere to retreat to once I'm done working.

I also try to take a few moments to pick up clutter on and around my desk. Our mammal brains are highly attuned to scanning your visual field for new input. The more sensory input and distractions in front of us, the more brain resources we use watching for threats and opportunities. Cutting back in clutter lets my brain rest and devote mental resources to the important tasks.

Lastly, I've worked to make it an aesthetically nice space, one that I associate with good vibes. I've added plants and a wall mural since the lockdown, and got rid of a few pieces of furniture to make it feel more open and airy. If we’re gonna be stuck, might as well make it a decent place to be stuck.
