Color Reflections Color Reflections is the most complete high end digital imaging, printing, and installation service. Arrow Graphics’ founders were Carl and Florence Magaziner.

With five locations nationwide, we provide large format printing solutions for retail, trade shows, events, professional and collegiate sports and more. Color Reflections began fifty years ago in Houston, Texas as Arrow Graphics. Their son Paul took over the business in the early 1980′s and expanded his family’s business into the exciting world of color reproductions, later renaming the firm. Over the past 50 years, Color Reflections has continued to grow and revolutionize the large-format visuals market. The part of an SEG light box nobody sees is the part that makes it work.

Every silicone edge graphic gets a thin silicone strip sewn around its border. That strip presses into the frame's channel and pulls the fabric tight, edge to edge, with no hardware showing. If the stitching wanders, the graphic ripples once it is lit. So it doesn't wander.

This is the fabric department in our Hollywood, Florida shop, finishing a print before it ships out folded.

A store takeover is not one big graphic. It is a stack of small pieces that all have to look like the same brand.

For Fenty Beauty, our Hollywood, Florida team produced the whole kit: outdoor banners, indoor fabric banners, double-sided door banners, backlit Duratrans graphics for the light box frames, window displays with wrapped product pedestals, laminated wall graphics and window stickers. Then we packed it all for installation at stores in Barbados, the Bahamas and Bermuda.

Changing a light box used to mean booking an installer and waiting for them to show up.

This is an SEG light box. The frame and the LEDs stay on the wall. The printed fabric pulls straight out of the channel, the new one presses in by hand, and the box is back on in minutes. No tools. Nobody to schedule.

We shot this one in our Hollywood, Florida shop. The flowers came out and Halloween went in. Yes, that is a pineapple dressed as a jack-o'-lantern. It's Florida.

Next month the jack-o'-lantern comes out and the holiday graphic goes in. Same box, new season.

Every material has a worst case scenario. Ours volunteered.

These are accessible boarding zones at 42nd Street, produced on a specialty adhesive floor vinyl built for exactly this: a surface that gets walked on by an entire city, laid over tile and tactile strip and then left to get on with it.

Consider the assignment. A New York winter. Several million shoes. An unbroken procession of suitcase wheels. Salt, grit, and rain that has been indoors too long.

It is still there.

We bring this up more often than is strictly necessary, but when someone asks how long a floor graphic really lasts, it is awfully nice to have an answer ready.

The wall was curved. History, unhelpfully, is a straight line.

Getting a hundred and ten years to sit level along a bending corridor takes a laser, two installers, and panels printed to the wall as it actually is rather than as it was drawn. Buildings move. Plaster has opinions. So we measure on site, and then we measure again, which is not glamorous but has saved us every single time.

Weeks of measuring. One afternoon of holding our nerve.

Go on, look for a seam. You will not find one, and it has quietly become a personality trait. We bring it up unprompted. At parties.

Somewhere in every office building there is a wall with a single word on it. Floating. Uppercase. Usually a noun.

You know the one. We have all worked next to it.

This building went a different way. City photography cut into angular panels that run across the walls and wrap the corners. A full height letter wall. Meeting rooms that no longer look like a room where a meeting happens to you.

Printed and installed floor by floor, so the whole place reads as one idea rather than eleven separate good intentions.

Not a single floating noun anywhere in the building. We checked. We enjoyed checking.

Three floors of a law firm, and the most interesting thing on the walls is the city outside them.

Boathouse Row runs down a corridor. Reading Terminal hangs over the cafe seating, awning included. The skyline turns the corner by the elevators, cut on an angle so it slides past you while you stand there doing the thing everybody does, which is watching the floor numbers as though they might surprise you.

Floors 48, 49 and 50 at DLA Piper, printed and installed as one continuous argument that people might as well enjoy where they work.

Forty eight floors up, the view was already the best thing in the building. It felt rude not to bring some of it inside.

Drexel University and the Academy's board have announced that the Academy of Natural Sciences will close its museum to the public on September 30.

If you do not know it, it is the oldest natural history museum in the Americas, open on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway since 1828. It is where Philly kids have met dinosaurs for generations. Attendance never fully came back after the pandemic and costs kept climbing, so the galleries are closing to the public. The research and the collections will continue behind closed doors.

A volunteer campaign called Save the Academy is fighting to keep the museum open, and they need Philadelphia behind them.

This is our city's museum. We have worked inside those halls for nine years, and we are not letting it close without a fight.

Here is how you can help:

2. Call Mayor Parker's office at (215) 686-2181
3. Contact your City Council member (find yours at phlcouncil.com)

Then share this post. The more of Philly that speaks up this week, the harder it is to ignore.

We have printed a great many things. This is the first time we have printed something with that many legs.

Microsculpture arrived at the Academy of Natural Sciences as gallery panels, each portrait stitched together from thousands of stacked frames. Which is a wonderful printing problem, and by wonderful we mean genuinely difficult. The image has to hold together from across the room, and then still hold up when a nine year old gets six inches from a beetle's eye. Which they do. Immediately. Every time.

Both distances. Same sheet. No negotiation.

Go and look at a weevil properly. We are not going to pretend we were not moved.

The American Red Cross has a hundred and ten years of history, and decided it had spent enough time in a drawer.

So it went up on the wall. 1916 to now, in order, down the whole length of a curved corridor: photographs, headlines, recruitment posters, the years called out in red as you walk past them.

Here is the thing about an archive. It is a room where important things go to be alone. Beautifully catalogued. Climate controlled. Visited roughly never.

A corridor, meanwhile, gets used by everybody, every day, mostly while thinking about lunch.

One of those is a much better place to keep a story.
