We pause today with deep sadness to honor the life and career of our dear colleague, Denise Duffin, who passed away this weekend after a brief illness.
Denise built an extraordinary career in advertising and media, beginning in account management at agencies including Kalish & Rice and Earle Palmer Brown before moving into broadcast media at WIP, Y-100, WXTU, and later into radio sales consulting. What began as a vacation to Hawaii became a two-and-a-half-year chapter of living in Honolulu and working in television at Hawaii News Now. Upon returning to Philadelphia, Denise continued her work in media with Today Media before officially joining Crane Communications in 2022 as Senior Vice President, Account Management.
Although Denise formally joined Crane Communications later in her career, her influence on the company spanned nearly three decades through her role as a trusted advisor to our CEO, Karen Crane, and a guiding presence since the firm’s inception.
Denise was known for her unmatched work ethic, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to excellence. She was deeply respected by clients and colleagues alike for her integrity, professionalism, and competitive spirit. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Denise always made time to support others and champion the next generation. She will be remembered for her generosity, mentorship, brilliant writing skills and her incredibly sharp, quick wit that kept the joy in work and relieved even the most stressful days!
Crane Communications was profoundly fortunate to benefit from Denise’s wisdom, leadership, and friendship. She was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
