Designer Harvey Ball was only compensated a paltry $45 for his imaginative work (which he never trademarked) and the image became one of the most enduring symbols of 70s pop culture.

Nothing like great set design!

Watching The Shining tonight. On a recent trip to Colorado, we could see The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, which provided the seed for the idea of Stephen King’s book. However, it’s Stanley Kubrick’s directing and Roy Walker’s set design that really makes it so terrifying. Read all about it here
