Ooo I love when marketing solves more than one problem!
Came across this post earlier that said AMC created a red purse-shaped popcorn bucket for The Devil Wears Prada 2. I think its a really smart play and let me tell you why!
1️⃣ Idk about you but I would rather stream a movie then go into the theater. It’s really just a cleanliness thing for me. But this actually gives me a reason to show up and be a part of the experience!
2️⃣ I think its the perfect alignment between the story, the product, and the audience:
Fashion movie ➡️ purse popcorn bucket.
Iconic red color ➡️ instantly recognizable.
Fans ➡️ guaranteed social media posts.
Now the audience isn’t just buying popcorn. They’re buying something visual, something collectible, something worth taking a picture with.
And once people start posting photos holding that purse in the theater, AMC and the movie get thousands of pieces of free visibility.
Yeah.. I dont need anymore stuff but I definitely need this! What about you? 😅
