Please join us in congratulating our own Schimen-Renée Brown on her promotion to Director of Education and Wellness at NAMI Philadelphia! Her personal mental health journey has fueled an inspiring commitment to mental health awareness and community education. Turning trauma into triumph is possible through accountability and integrity—and she is doing it!

We are so excited to celebrate our leadership team as they take on these new roles! We’re incredibly grateful for their passion and everything they do to bring NAMI Philadelphia’s mission to life in our community.

Amy Federer serves as the Deputy Executive Director at NAMI Philadelphia (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Working alongside the CEO, she helps manage daily operations, direct community outreach initiatives, and advance mental health support programs. Her responsibilities include supervising staff, creating and overseeing various programming, cultivating local partnerships, and assisting with financial and administrative functions to champion advocacy and education across Philadelphia.

As Director of Education and Wellness, Schimen Brown drives the strategic growth and expansion of mission-focused community wellness programs. In her executive leadership role, she manages staff development, programmatic expansion, and brand marketing to advance mental health awareness. She also leads major regional advocacy projects dedicated to lowering stigma and fostering a healthy organizational culture.

As Director of Advocacy and Youth Initiatives, Lexie Taylor leads NAMI Philadelphia’s youth-serving team and advocacy initiatives, overseeing youth and young adult programming, including NAMI On Campus and Young Professional Leaders (YPL). She also co-facilitates the Philadelphia Behavioral Health and Advocacy Taskforce (PBHAT), advancing community engagement and behavioral health advocacy.
