It got replaced by menus, chatbots, portals, and transfers.

Companies call it convenience.

For them, it is.

For everyone else, it’s another obstacle.

The mission didn’t disappear.

It got replaced by a spreadsheet.

Somewhere along the way, we stopped rewarding impact and started rewarding whatever was easiest to count.

The scoreboard became more important than the reason we were keeping score.

That’s how organizations stay busy while nothing gets better.
