Nittany MinitMart’s annual Fuel the Cause fundraiser is always one of our favorite projects of the year.
Our work for this year's campaign started over six months ago, with road trips to fire stations throughout central PA for photoshoots. This week, we’re finally wrapping it up with a few final social posts and reels. In between, we produced a changeout with over 40 print pieces, drove almost 30k engagements on social, told the stories of real local volunteer firefighters, and helped promote an awesome cause that not enough people talk about.
Our team puts a ton of work into making sure this promotion is unmissable. Store signage highlights the different ways customers can support the fundraiser, an app takeover features vendor partnerships, and food photoshoots showcase Firehouse Foods in a way that drives in-store traffic.
Just as important is capturing the human side of the campaign. Through on-location firefighter shoots, we’re able to highlight real people and real stories to ground the campaign in the purpose behind it. We're not using stock photos here – the face on the billboards we have up throughout Central PA is Tucker, a junior firefighter from a station 15 minutes from our office and 2 minutes from the closest Nittany MinitMart. Together, the volunteers pictured on our marketing for this campaign represent 7 different stations and over 200 years of service. Telling their stories, making them feel like the heroes they are, and being a part of Nittany MinitMart’s mission to give back to them is one of the most rewarding things we do each year.
