Putting The Cookout together grew me, inspired me, and reminded me what’s possible when we allow our ideas to become invitations for other people to create alongside us.
I learned so much about collaboration, trusting the process, asking for support, and pivoting when I didn’t know exactly how everything would work out. Most of all, I was reminded that marketing is deeply relational. Sometimes the greatest return isn’t the money you make. It’s the relationships you build, the memories you create, and the goodwill you pour back into your community.
It was incredibly meaningful to create a space where BIPOC entrepreneurs, creatives, and community members could connect, celebrate, and support one another. I’m so grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life.
