Putting The Cookout together grew me, inspired me, and reminded me what’s possible when we allow our ideas to become invitations for other people to create alongside us.

I learned so much about collaboration, trusting the process, asking for support, and pivoting when I didn’t know exactly how everything would work out. Most of all, I was reminded that marketing is deeply relational. Sometimes the greatest return isn’t the money you make. It’s the relationships you build, the memories you create, and the goodwill you pour back into your community.

It was incredibly meaningful to create a space where BIPOC entrepreneurs, creatives, and community members could connect, celebrate, and support one another. I’m so grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life.

A huge thank you to:

Laura Loescher - Laura Loescher

Today I want to give a loving shoutout to Krista Vegner, the powerhouse behind La Fuente Market + Pi***la Food Truck. 🌿

I first met Krista at a fundraising event I put on last year, and she gave in such a beautiful and generous way. Her heart just keeps on giving, and I have so much love and appreciation for the way she shows up for this community.

La Fuente Market is such a beautiful reflection of that heart. Inspired by Krista’s ancestors and her Mexican heritage, the market weaves together tradition, her love for butchery, and a commitment to local, healthy, organic and sustainably grown foods. 🌽🥩

Her vision and mission are deeply rooted in supporting local, just like mine, so partnering with her for The Cookout was a no-brainer.

And I am SO excited to share the curated menu we’re putting together for the event, with all of the food prepared by La Fuente Market!

So if you haven’t yet, make sure to secure your meal ticket, because when I tell you this food is so good 🤤 you don’t wanna miss out on your plate .

For nearly 10 years, I’ve been a Black female entrepreneur here in Southern Oregon. During that time, I’ve watched more and more incredible BIPOC-owned businesses and creatives grow throughout the Rogue Valley.

But one thing I kept noticing is that, despite all the amazing networking events and pop-ups in our community, many of these entrepreneurs still aren’t always in the room.

That inspired me to create a space where our community can come together to celebrate, connect, collaborate, and support one another.

✨I’m so excited to partner with Krista Vegter Trujillo to bring you The Cookout 2026. A free community networking event celebrating Southern Oregon’s BIPOC entrepreneurs, creatives, and the allies who support them.

This isn’t your average networking event. We’re building community over great food, music, and good vibes.

Everyone is invited to The Cookout!

Well, actually… I’ve been in business for 2,718 days.(That’s seven years, give or take.)

But it’s really only been over this last year that I’ve been able to collaborate with some of the most amazing small business owners, the best videographer, shout out to Loren Edward Wheeler , and a powerful, supportive, creative team to build out this new version of Simply Healthy Marketing.

A version that is rooted in funneling money back into the local economy by supporting small businesses, telling their stories, and helping them show up consistently through full-service digital marketing, social media strategy/management, and long + short-form video content.

I’ve always had dreams of building an agency, but there is something so surreal about watching it actually come together in real time.

We’ve been working with some of the most inspirational business owners, and some days I genuinely wake up surprised that this is my life.

Mostly, I’m just really grateful.

🌸For the people who have trusted us in a time where it’s hard to know who to trust.

🌸For the team that’s growing this with me.

🌸Grateful for the businesses that let us tell their stories.

And this is just the beginning!

If you’re a small business owner looking for support with marketing, long me short form content, social media, or telling your story in a way that actually connects with your community, reach out.

Let’s talk about it.🌱

Loving mention to those featured in this video and past as present clients and collaborators that have been part of this growth journey:

Loren - Loren Edward Wheeler
Audree - A.R. Creative | Social Media Marketing
Ryan Ginn | Couples Counseling
Everlong Candle Co. | Home Fragrances
Press Esc Studio - Wallpaper + Interior Design
Skip Real Estate | Southern Oregon
Tough Love for Men

Lia
Samantha Johnson
KIMBERLEYMARGARITA👽
Laura Foxglove - Menstrual Cycle Educator + Postpartum Doula

And everyone else who’s been allowing us to share your story and highlight your business through our “For the Love of Local”campaign 💚
