If a logo doesn’t work in black and white, it doesn’t work.
What are your thoughts on that?
I believe an effective logo shouldn’t have to rely on color to be clear and compelling.
An effective logo should and will look great in its simplest form of black and white.
Sure, color can hype it up, add some emotion to it, and make it feel more complete, but the colors don’t define your logo mark or brand.
I think this statement could be left up to argument too because there is cases like McDonalds - their golden arches and bright red are a staple to their brand and you always think of those colors when you think of McDonalds, but their logo mark is still strong stripped down to black and white.
