Iโll never forget the day it all clicked. It was a crazy time in my lifeโI was juggling everything. My business was a solo agency trying to do it all: Facebook Ads, YouTube Ads, email marketing, SEO, landing pages, CRO, social media managementโyou name it, I thought I needed to offer it. On top of that, I was doing DoorDash deliveries just to make rent. I thought being the guy who could "do everything" was the way to win. ๐๐ผ๐, ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ป๐ด.
At the time, I had just started learning YouTube Ads from Billy Gene, the owner of Billy Gene Is Marketing. He was teaching the ropes of marketing, and I was starting to see the potential of YouTube Ads. But I didnโt realize how big of a turning point was coming.
One day, during a DoorDash run, I got a delivery order that stunned meโit was for Billy Gene himself. I could hardly believe it.
Security let me use the elevator up to the top of his sky-high condo, which had this insane ocean view. When he opened the door, I introduced myself and said, โIโm Lloyd Dodgen. Iโm in your coaching group.โ To my surprise, he remembered me.
I told him I was getting traction with YouTube Ads, and then he said something that hit me like a freight train:

In that moment, I realized I was spreading myself way too thin. Trying to do everything was holding me back from doing one thing exceptionally well. Billyโs advice wasnโt just a suggestionโit was a challenge. I knew he was right.
Thereโs a saying: โJack of all trades, master of none, but oftentimes better than master of one.โ While thatโs true in some cases, I realized that being a jack of all trades wasnโt enough to make the impact I wanted. Sure, itโs important to understand the whole game, but true success lies in ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐. For me, that meant going all-in on YouTube Ads.
When I decided to focus solely on YouTube Ads, everything started to change. Clients took notice, results improved, and I became the guy for YouTube Ads. It wasnโt easy, but it was worth it.

If youโre stuck trying to be everything for everyone, itโs time to rethink your strategy. Focus isnโt about narrowing your visionโitโs about amplifying your results. When you commit to one thing, you create the space to truly master it. And when you master something, your value skyrockets.
So hereโs my challenge to you: Pick your lane and go all in. Donโt be afraid to let go of the distractions pulling you in too many directions. Find your one thing and pour everything into it. Youโll be amazed at how far you can go.
