2/3: Strength Over Defeat

In honor of Veteran’s Day 🇺🇸, we’re proud to share the
story of Marcus Chischilly , a retired US Marine Corps
veteran who lost his leg while serving his country.
Marcus’s journey is one of incredible resilience,
courage, and the unbreakable spirit that drives him
forward, both as a survivor and as an inspiration to
others. This project holds special meaning for us, not
just as a tribute but as a powerful reminder of the
sacrifice and strength that our veterans embody.

HOW THIS PROJECT CAME TO FRUITION
Jess (our Co-Founder) was adopted out of Pine Ridge,
where her Lakota Sioux Tribe is from. Because she did
not grow up on the reservation, she still wanted to
honor her descendants by telling stories of the First
Nation people. The most powerful stories to tell are
those of resiliency. Jess has a passion for sharing
tragedy to triumph-stories. She’s inspired by people
who choose to overcome oppression, progress in life
after a major regression, and decide to win after
significant defeats. Jess met Marcus at a Hoop
Dancing Competition in Phoenix, Arizona. After hearing
more of Marcus’ story, she wanted to share it.

This passion project is more than a video; it’s our way
of honoring Marcus and other veterans who have given
so much. By sharing Marcus’s story, we hope to
highlight the strength of our veteran community and
inspire others to support, appreciate, and stand by the
men and women who have served.

Here’s to all the veterans who continue to show what
true resilience looks like. 🌊💪🏽 Let’s remember their
sacrifices, both visible and invisible, that make a
difference in all our lives.

The City of Flagstaff reached out to us to help capture Flagstaff’s first 5x large-scale outdoor sculpture art exhibition. We were stoked to be awarded the project and get to spend a handful of days in Northern Arizona capturing a significant moment for the city.

Our objective was to tell the story of the Multicultural Representation Project from conception to completion of the first exhibition and celebration. To show emphasis on the project's evolution from an idea of Indigenous Representation to a Multicultural Park Sculpture Exhibition to prompt appreciation, conversation, and interaction from the viewer(s).

It's been awhile since we've worked on a longer-form mini-doc style project like this, and we are absolutely pumped on how the story came together.
