Just Picked Just Picked is more than a citrus picking business, it is an agent in which entrepreneurial skills, service to community and charity are taught to teens.

Simple Ideas are powerful. That is why we at Just Picked believe that the simple task of providing a small, but valuable service to the community can blossom into an opportunity to teach teens about the entrepreneurship. The concept of Just Picked was the brain child of my 9 year old son who wanted to learn how to start a business. The purpose of Just Picked is to educate pre-teens and teens that

they are powerful members of our community. Just like adults, they have the capacity to make a difference in their community economically, environmentally and charitably. The youth involved in Just Picked will learn how to write a business plan, small business finance, website development, social media, marketing, work ethic, service to others and self confidence. Had an 'moment' with my kids while picking fruit this morning. As I go up and down the ladder, move it around under the tree to get a better look, a new look at where the fruit might be hiding and how I can best reach it, I thought, and proceed to tell my kids, picking fruit is like life, "You need to change your perspective sometimes, you can't always see what is right in front of you unless you change your point of view." My 10 year old ignored me, but my 13 year old thought about it and said he could relate. Phew....

It is citrus picking time again!!! Unfortunately roof rats have been reported as very active in the Ahwatukee area. Get your fruit off your tree to remove the food source and the rats should take up residence elsewhere.
