Needle and Fire Workshop We’re a small Arkansas studio specializing in embroidery, quilting, and laser-cut projects. We also offer hands-on classes, DIY kits, and seasonal workshops.

People sometimes ask what she does the rest of the week when the shop is only open three days.

When she isn’t working on custom orders, she does all the other work that goes into running the shop, including working with wholesalers and deciding what fabric we’ll carry next season.

She’s been too busy preparing for a call with our Riley Blake representative to get on Facebook, so she asked me to make a post.

Naturally, I’m posting about her working.

Sorry for censoring the photos, but we don’t have the fabric yet, and I never get to play with Photoshop anymore anyway. It's fun watching the smudge tool swirl around.

A little sneak peek at something coming to Needle & Fire Workshop in October!

We’re working on a new embroidery workshop featuring this Hello, Harvest appliqué shirt.

If you’re looking at it thinking, “That’s cute, but I don’t have an embroidery machine…” you’re not left out!

I’ll also be taking orders for finished Hello, Harvest shirts soon.

I met with my awesome Riley Blake rep, and we found some fun new fabrics and notions for the shop!

Some of these were picked with very specific projects in mind, and some of them came home simply because we thought they were beautiful and wanted to see what y’all might make with them.

We have new Double Lush Velvet coming in that is ridiculously soft and perfect for cozy winter projects. I’m already thinking about an easy blanket and possibly a cute little jacket.

We also have Boho Batiks coming specifically for the Villa Rosa Jolene pattern, plus Wishes and Petals & Hazel that I’m planning to use for three-yard quilt combinations, fat quarters, and maybe a few kits.

And yes, I finally ordered thread! We’ll have Riley Blake Confetti Cotton 60 wt thread in three neutral colors: Cloud, Ivory, and Sand Dollar.

I also restocked POParazzi Cream because apparently we have all decided we really like it. We’re already using it in several projects around the shop, and that subtle little pattern makes it such a good background fabric.

Here’s what’s happening at Needle & Fire this week!

We’ll be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10–5, and we’ve got something going on each day.

🧵 Thursday: Sew Day, 10–4
Bring your machine, bring a project, and come spend the day sewing with us.

🐌 Friday: Snail Trail FPP Trivet Workshop, 11–4
If you’ve been wanting to try Foundation Paper Piecing, this is a good project to learn on. We still have open spots for Friday’s workshop.

✂️ Saturday: Beginner Sewing, 10–4
This class usually fills, but we still have seats available this Saturday! If you have a sewing machine but aren’t quite sure what to do with it, or you’ve been wanting to learn from the beginning, this is the class for you.

And even if you’re not taking a class, come shop with us! We’ve been getting in lots of new fabric, patterns, notions, and other goodies, with more going on the website this week.
