Welcome back to Marketing Tip Mondays! This week we wanted to center on something that can help you to activate your website as the hub of your marketing efforts, and that is using UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) codes. These codes allow you to add additional tracking onto links that you share over social media, emails, or any other third party source so you can properly track how much traffic you received from difference sources and campaigns. To set up UTM codes, you can use Google's free tool at https://ga-dev-tools.web.app/ga4/campaign-url-builder/ and fill in the relevant information for your content. As a baseline its good to fill in Campaign Source to show what platform the content is coming from, Campaign Medium to show what kind of content it is, the Campaign Name to show which campaign it was from, and Campaign Content to show where specifically the link was, for example if you had a link to a webinar in the header image of an email and as a button, the the Campaign content would be header for the first and in text link for the second. Once you're done you can copy the generated URL and use it when you're inserting links into your marketing efforts so the data all shows up neatly in your Google Analytics!
