New on the SAE University Programs YouTube channel: an inside look at WashU Racing, the Formula SAE team from Washington University in St. Louis.

This feature highlights the team’s engineering process, leadership development, project management, and the challenges of designing, manufacturing, and competing with a Formula SAE race car. It offers a great look at how students apply classroom knowledge in a real-world engineering environment while preparing for competition.

One of the unique aspects of our work with SAE International is creating content on-site during competition events. Beyond livestreaming the action, we help capture stories that can support teams, programs, sponsors, and organizations throughout the year.

These event-based interviews and team features become valuable content for:

Another great conversation on the latest episode of Beyond the Competition from SAE University Programs.

This episode features Joshua Kim, a former University of Illinois Formula SAE EV team member who turned his hands-on competition experience into a career in advanced semiconductor research and startup leadership.

Joshua shares how Formula SAE helped him develop real-world engineering skills far beyond the classroom — from composites manufacturing and CNC machining to problem solving, design reviews, and process optimization. He also talks about the value of student competition programs in preparing engineers for industry and why companies are actively recruiting Formula SAE alumni.

One of the biggest takeaways: engineering education is at its best when students can build, test, fail, improve, and collaborate in real environments.

Every great event video starts long before the edit timeline opens. For this project, we took hours of footage, interviews, and event moments and shaped them into a fast-paced highlight story designed for YouTube and social media engagement.

Another amazing week with the Formula SAE community in the books!

Sidekick Media Services was proud to be on-site for SAE International Formula SAE IC 2026 at Michigan International Speedway capturing the action, innovation, and teamwork that make this competition special every year.

Another incredible weekend on the road with the Baja SAE community!

Sidekick Media Services wrapped up the Baja SAE season with the SAE International Oregon Chapter at the legendary Washougal MX Park out west.

Our crew was on-site all weekend providing:

• Student and sponsor interviews
• Highlight packages for YouTube and ongoing promotion
• Live streaming for the awards ceremony
