Sometimes the best ideas have staying power. 🧊
For longtime client Hawaiian Falls, Aardvark Communications helped turn the Texas summer heat into a media opportunity by dumping more than 2,000 pounds—a full ton—of ice into the wave pool at Hawaiian Falls Roanoke. Two days later, the tradition continued at Hawaiian Falls Waco.
Aardvark originally created the Ice Dump in 2011 as a unique media event designed to capitalize on one of Texas’ most predictable summer stories: triple-digit heat. Hawaiian Falls became the first waterpark to dump a ton of ice into a wave pool, creating a visual event made for television.
Fifteen years later, the idea is still delivering results. This year, Aardvark secured more than $350,000 in earned media value through television, radio, newspaper and online coverage.
A good idea can create a moment. A great one can become a tradition.
