While our team takes some time to decompress and reflect on all of the beauty, glory and wedding feats from 2021 - we just want to pop into your feeds to thank all of our lovely 2021 clients, vendors and team members.

Our hearts are so so so full this holiday season, and we feel eternally grateful to have worked with all of you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this the most memorable season to date. ❤️

As our team takes the day to recover from all the JHD Holiday Wreath MAGIC that took place at Cornman Farms this week, we want to take a moment to interrupt your feed to celebrate this very special lady.

Some of you may recognize her, as she’s been our incredible Best Day Ever planning assistant for our 2021 wedding season.

Everyone, meet Maddie 👏🏻😍

Where do we even begin!?

Maddie was not only a JHD/BDE superstar this season, but she was also our MVP in so many ways. Her devotion to events, our clients and our company at every twist and turn inspired every member of our team.
Her selflessness, positivity, dependability, radiance & down-for-anything personality played an immense impact on this season as well. The list could go on and on and on - truly.

If we could write appreciation posts full of praise for Maddie every day, we would. It’s indescribable what she was able to accomplish in such a short time. She lifted our team’s spirits and empowered us, in studio and on event days, when we needed it the most. She was the “top secret,” special sauce that allowed us to keep doing what we loved all season long. ✨

Our clients fell in love with Maddie just as instantly as we did, and her presence on event days allowed our clients to feel at ease and enjoy every second of their wedding day. Even more so, she executed their event details and vision flawlessly - an event planning NATURAL. 👑

Maddie - from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this one of the most memorable and special wedding seasons to date. We’re so proud of you, and we’ll be cheering you on as your enter this next chapter of your career. We are your life long fans! We know you’re going to succeed in whatever you set your mind and heart to. We love you ❤️

It’s that time of year again… ❄️😍 And JUST in time for our holiday wreath workshop week!

It was so wonderful to share some holiday cheer last year with those that purchased our custom wreaths, but damn - we are beyond excited to get back to watching you all create some pretty amazing wreaths yourselves this year! We’re hosting not one, not two, but THREE workshops at the lovely and boy is it going to be good.

Stay tuned for some behind the scenes and footage of our IN PERSON workshops this week. Woo!!

BRB… as we dream the day away and re-live Krisha & Steve’s wedding last weekend! We truly cannot get over this couple’s incredible style 😍

The tropical-centric design, incorporation of disco balls (yes, disco balls) and Motown vibes allllll while having 72 floor high views of Detroit?! This is what wedding dreams are made of.

2020 has been the most challenging, stressful, scary, and emotionally demanding year of our lives. We are collectively going through a trauma, and that trauma takes a toll. The daily stress is taking a toll.

And, while we are indeed going through this together, some of us are experiencing hardships and stress in a way many of us can’t fathom. A growing number of us don’t know where our next meal is coming from. Some of us are experiencing food scarcity and food insecurity- In America.

Families. Children. Seniors. Are going hungry. Food bank lines are longer than ever.

When you’re in the wedding industry you can get real caught up in your little world. 7 or 8 months at a time, we eat, sleep, breathe, and are fully immersed in this wedding microcosm. This year was no different, even with a lack of actual weddings- that microcosm became all consuming.

As we come up for air at and we have decided that the final stretch of 2020 we will focus less on creative distractions, less on predicting the future, 🔮 less on our little microcosm, and, instead, focus some of our efforts on making a difference in our communities.

When things are really hard, when life feels really daunting and overwhelming, it’s a proven fact that doing something charitable or philanthropic helps soothe the soul, helps your mental health, and breaks you out of the worries in your world.

People in our communities need us, and this is a simple but impactful way to help.

We will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items on the dates listed on this flyer. We will also be picking up canned goods etc from anyone having a wreath delivered this year. Just leave a bag or two on your porch and we will gladly retrieve them for you.

Cheers to Annie & Joe. ✨🥂

Our first wedding (with guests and a reception set up) of the 2020 season.

In August we are typically 3/4 of the way through our season, but, of course, not this year. This year, we didn’t really get to hit the ground and design or coordinate a wedding till well into our season. We weren’t sure we would work at all this year, so, when it was time, we were elated.

While we were positively exhausted by the personal and professional effects of a global pandemic, we were absolutely raring to go creatively. Like, “let us at this wedding, we are primed and ready!!!”

And, though it was much different than the original plan, like most of our 2020 weddings, it turned out exactly as it was meant to be, destined to be. In many ways more perfect than the original plan. Funny how things work out like that. 🖤

We know Annie & Joe would agree.

This wedding gave us a shot in the arm of normalcy, hope, and confidence that we will come out the other side of this. And, as we progressed through 15 other weddings similar to this one, until our season ended last weekend, we kept feeling that momentum toward hope and normalcy building.

So, on the note of “hope” and “normalcy” - 2021 here we come. 🙌🏻 But, don’t forget, y’all have to wear a mask, and wash your hands, and social distance to get us there. 😷

What a wedding season it’s been.

♥️😩🤓😱🥴🥂😍🙌😁😷😎🥳 🦠

Phew. All the feels. All the emojis.

Just a few more weddings to complete this season, and we can’t wait to give it our all! Typically September and October are our busiest months, and crazy enough, even in Covid times, that still rings true. We spent months not working and now we are getting the chance to do what we do, outside only of course. We are so grateful that a handful of our clients are continuing with their plans, and allowing us to help them bring their vision/dream day (amended of course) to life.

Though we’ve worked about a 1/4 of our regular schedule, it’s still been just as challenging and fulfilling, as the smaller more intimate weddings are just as detailed, just fewer guests.

Cheers to all of our unforgettable Fall 2020 couples. Let’s do this! 🤩🥳
