Have you or anyone you know always had that thought in the back of your head about volunteering in your local community more? Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community! Unfortunately, volunteerism is at an all-time low in today’s world. While it is very important to be able to support and provide for yourself and family, it is also very important to give back to those in your community.
The Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad (TEVAS) is one of the last few 100% Volunteer EMS Agencies in Ulster County. Running over 1000 calls per year within 5 fire districts, 65 active members selflessly devote their time to help give back to those who need it the most.
TEVAS is actively looking for new members to volunteer and learn about running medical emergencies. If you or anyone you know have ever been interested in joining an EMS agency, now is the time to jump in and do it. You do not have to be an EMT to join this agency; you don’t even need any background in the medical field to join this agency. Here at TEVAS, we are all about teaching and growing. We have many members who began as attendants and started out helping on calls to soon become drivers, EMTs, and even officers! We accept junior members beginning at age 16 and have members who are in their early 70s. You also do not have to live in the Town of Esopus to be a member as well! We have members from Kingston, Saugerties, Accord, Tillson, Highland, the list continues.
We are calling out to you to join us and be a part of saving someone’s life. EMTs are especially needed. Feel free to scroll through our page to see what we are about and why our amazing members volunteer with us. Message our page for an application or with any questions you may have!
