Lesson of the Day: As long as you're willing to accept that your dream may not happen exactly how you plan it, you can ALWAYS reach your goal.

This one is a lesson that has been a work in progress for me. I always visualize how things will happen when it comes to important topics and ideas. And my major challenge has been to let it come to pass, however the universe presents it. I realize that I like to have more control over these big issues than not, and sometimes seeing an alternate pathway to that plan of success can be a bit different than how I imagined it would be.

How has this lesson shown up in your life? Have you had to alter your big goals to achieve your end result? Let me know!

Bucket List

For a long time, I always thought about skydiving as something I wanted to do in this lifetime. I got the chance a couple years back, and regret nothing. I have to tell you, a lot of things go through your head as your hurling yourself at 150mph towards the earth. It's a combination of a lot of emotions and feelings: excitement, fear, the unknown, adrenaline, hair-raising, and calmness. I know the last one sounds a bit strange, but here's what I mean. There hits a point after about 1 minute(it's more like 10 seconds, just feels like 1 minute) that you just feel a sense of calm about you. In that moment you realize that you don't have to CONTROL anything. The bus drives itself at that point. It's a very freeing notion to have, especially while moving over 100+mph and not in a vehicle. It's an experience that I will never forget and will do again.

One thing you think everyone should try at least once in their lives.

My Life Story

Everyone has a story to tell.
I've been involved with sports since I can remember. My year was filled with practices and games of varying sports. I was always on a baseball team, soccer team, basketball team, football team, or a dive team. My days consisted of going from school to practice and back home to repeat the process.

Over the years I got pretty good at most of the sports I played, especially baseball. I always figured that I would just play baseball forever and go professional. And wouldn't you know it, something came up. An Injury. When I was playing ball in community college I had tendonitis in my right shoulder turn into something more. I tore my labrum. This meant I couldn't lift my throwing arm above shoulder height without have it start to dislocate itself. Definitely not my life's high point.

I had a surgery to repair it during the season, and ended up missing all but about 3 weeks of the season. A week after I got back on the baseball field, I partially tore my right hamstring. This put me out for the rest of the year. This was not my year.

One of the things the really ate me up was how my mindset shifted after the injury and surgery. I had always expected to continue playing baseball at a higher level, but the doubt never got in my head until the recovery. With an injury there a lot of time to just think. And thinking is where I get myself into trouble. My head got filled with so much doubt and "what if..." scenarios that it eventually ended my career the following year. I found myself asking the question: "is this worth it?"

Looking back, like many of the moments in my life I realized this was a character building moment. And I see now that my career ending after the injury has lead me to other things and areas in my life that I would not have experienced had I still been playing baseball. The biggest takeaway from my story is this: Sometimes it's more about the person we become than the struggles or victories in the moment.

What’s your story?

Fill In The Blanks

After finishing my sports career, my biggest challenge has been _____.

After finishing my sports career, my biggest challenge has been finding something to fill the void of many years of teams and teamwork. I didn't realize how much I enjoyed and looked forward to the socialization and relationship building aspect of teams until lately. It shaped who I am as a person.

Copy and paste this onto your post and fill in the blank.

Term Of The Day

"Realistic”
Many people think that this is what they need to be in the world. Let me tell you something I learned a LONG time ago. Unrealistic people rule the world. Realistic is something that were taught to believe to settle for less that what we want. If you want someone, go out and grab it. Period.

Now you know!

You Can Start Over

Don't Let Your Past Define Your Future.

Starting over or starting something new can be scary. It can be stressful. To help ease your mind think of this: EVERYTHING you have ever done, had a 'first time'. Confidence and feeling comfortable comes with time and practice. Don't be afraid of trying the new thing, welcome it.

Morning Wisdom

Be sure to take the time to plan and invest in your future.

As Tony Robbins once said: "to imagine is to create a VISION, to take action is to make it POSSIBLE, but to plan is to make is REAL"

Don’t Give Up

As Vince Lombardi once said, 'Winners never quit and quitters never win'.

It seems true especially in today's day and age that if you try and don't succeed, we give up. If it's hard to do it must not be worth it, right? WRONG. The only things that are worth doing are those things that are hard or things that provide us to struggle a bit. The STRUGGLE is where the GROWTH happens. And the GROWTH is where the HAPPINESS comes in. When we achieve something that was difficult, we feel accomplished and progress to a stronger, better version of yourself.

What's one area that has been a challenge for you? How did you overcome it? How did that make you feel once you overcame it?

Mentor Shoutout

I want to give a shout out to someone who has been guiding me through the life creation process. He is the person who got me into life-creation versus settling for the life I HAD to live. He has been the person that gave me hope of a life of fulfillment and joy, rather than one of stress and fear.

He's given me the tools and the knowledge to work on me and creating the life of my dreams. I'm talking about the one and only Jeff Lerner.

Bust A Myth

The Myth: History will repeat itself.

This is bogus. History only repeats itself if the same thing is done in the exact same order. If the steps are altered or the order is different, so will the result be different.

Think of baking a cake. If you use different ingredients or have a different order of adding them to the cake, you will NOT get the same cake. TRUST ME...I'VE TRIED.

What myth have you busted? Let us know in the comments below.
