I ORDERED ONE PIECE OF ART… apparently I got the whole experience. 😆
There’s something different about buying an original from an artist whose work you genuinely dig.
This one came all the way from London from graffiti artist Zebra.Pozer 🇬🇧 and I was already excited just knowing there was an original aerosol piece rolled up inside that art tube.
Then I opened the package …
First surprise: the dude SKETCHED ON THE ART TUBE.
Now I’m standing there thinking, Well crap… apparently I have to save the shipping tube too.
Then I popped the cap off the tube and immediately got hit with that unmistakable smell of spray paint.
If you grew up around graffiti, you KNOW that smell.
For about two seconds I wasn’t standing in my studio in Northwest Indiana anymore … I was 13 again with a marker in my pocket, a can rattling somewhere nearby, and probably making questionable decisions about what technically qualified as a “canvas.”
Yep, that paint smell brought back some memories.
Then I keep digging and find stickers… some bonus goodies… AND this really cool little 3D-printed piece it looks just like the Zebra.Pozer characters with a lanyard that I can hang off a backpack.
My inner graffiti kid was having a pretty good day.
What I really like about Zebra Pozer’s work is that it doesn’t feel overly polished or desperately trying to be perfect.
His characters have that loose, raw, sketchbook energy, the kind of stuff that feels like somebody’s imagination spilled onto the wall before anybody had a chance to clean it up.
He’s been developing his graffiti work since 2012 and you can find his characters popping up around London, including the legendary Leake Street Tunnel.
And now…
one of his originals somehow made its way from the streets of London to my collection here in Northwest Indiana.
Pretty cool.
There’s something special about owning original art. You’re not just buying an image.
You’re getting a little piece of somebody’s imagination, their style, their story … and apparently, if you buy from Zebra Pozer, the shipping tube becomes part of the collection too 😆

Now I just have one problem…
