Happy Winter Solstice! 🌞 Hidden Shrines Vol. 4 is now live🌿🕯️
In quiet reflection of this year and the momentous final performance by Ozzy Osbourne in July. I want to express my gratitude to him. I like many, owe a lot to Ozzy for being a bright welcome sign at the trail head of a music path.
Thank you to **Every band who joined our community gathering this year, and to Dylan Fields for sharing a picture from his travels to Ireland for the playlist cover. Thank you to all who listen or support this endeavor and this PNW scene!

Oregon Doom & Hidden Shrines proudly present Hidden Shrines Vol. 4! Releases December 21st, Winter Solstice🌿

From ::
We have so much to celebrate with the newest curation found in Hidden Shrines of the Heavy Riff Kind Vol. 4. This latest volume continues one of the noblest commitments to the Pacific Northwest heavy underground, gathering riff-forward music that reflects what a spectrum of heaviness sounds like across the region right now.

Hidden Shrines builds upon earlier perfect precedent to further illuminate a new collection, bringing together doom, sludge, psych-leaning heaviness, and other edges into a single listening space that honors the full breadth of the Pacific Northwest’s scene. Give into the sound that travels differently when surrounded by moss, bark, dark skies, Cascades, and a hush of fog.

From Hidden Shrines::
Winter Solstice, the lifting of the Sun. A light of an artist’s path preserved by our PNW metal community. Beacon to solace and evergreen sanctuary. This year we remember & honor the life of Ozzy Osbourne.
This playlist contains multitudes of inspiring, genuine, and creative conjurers of thought to riff that I feel lucky to be witness to.

Greetings to you! Thank you for walking along through this roster reveal with us. Stick around for Hidden Shrines of the Heavy Riff Kind Vol. III out 1.11 on Spotify

1. Abronia- A traveling caravan of sound,, whose wagon train snakes back to a deep well of inspired ancient voice. With vocal styles reminiscent of Grace Slick in parts,, plotting western guitar that gently guide from scapes of the Silk Road to singing lap steel and sax.

2. Ash Eater- The brake lines are cut,, the hill steepens into no holds barred thrash metal. Enter Ash Eater,, Portland’s psych skate rockers. They walk the walk,, hitting burnside skate park and playing to skate competitions around Oregon. Blistering riffs of epic proportion.

3. Elk Witch- Southern Oregon’s Elk Witch invites us on a vibrant and scenic slope that ventures into layered landscapes of crunchy innovation. Both 2021’s the Mountain EP” and 2022’s “Beyond The Mountain” are perfect examples of their riff-well never running dry.

4. Simple Forms- Some lyrics from their new single Into Midnight make me think of a quote by Ram Dass “the bridge between suffering and grace is surrender” Powerful post grunge with ethereal music grounded in a fingerprint all their own.

5. Red Cloud- The words from Eugene Oregon’s stoner rock trio say it best “the band explores our relationship to nature, one another, and ourselves. With one eye on history and the other looking forward to the future, …and take us on Jules-Verne-inspired journeys into the heart of the Earth”

6. Grimiss- Speaking to the chaotic environment of our times,, the impassioned Vocal and Guitar duo from Portland broadcast “intricate sonic atmospheres with driving rhythms, searing guitars and sultry yet powerful vocals to create music that is both complex and immersive.”

Greetings! We continue our roster reveal for Hidden Shrines of the Heavy Riff Kind Vol. III on Spotify 1.11!

1. Felsenmirror- Ethereal quality to atmospheric black metal. “Rituals in Transfigured time” that gracefully ebb and flow between absolutely enormous wall of tone to introspective melody. A healing Heavy sound.

2. Sun Crow- Hard hitting guitar and patient riffs that swing around the orbit of the mighty rhythm section. “Rain soaked doom blues, moss covered stoner rock” With soaring echoed vocals,, the shamanic guide through Oblivion.

3. Hippie Death Cult- The cover alone feels like stumbling across a Hermetic text. Each instrument holds its own as a unique voice,, and together a synchronous wave of metal bliss. Soulful vocals weave through inspired riff.

4. deathCAVE- Centered in the Venn diagram of thrash and doom. Painting a world of dark tone and roving melody,, powerful haunting vocals. Capturing the amplified pulse of nature.

5. Creep Creep Janga- Hailing from Eugene Oregon,, the four piece effortlessly travel between psych rock / doom / blues. Conjuring acts like Jefferson Airplane,, Iommic guitar and Windhand. They throw their net into ethereal sea,, pulling up raw sonic visions.

Greetings to you! The roster conversation continues into the Northern latitudes of Washington.

1. Mother Root- Momentum in distortion,, two brothers from Snoqualmie Valley create a journey that skirts grunge and stoner metal via drums and guitar two piece.

2. Sorcia- Possessing heart and grit,, a sojourn to the other side molded by the Seattle area Doom trio. Narrative through sound,, Mariana Trench deep growl of guitar.

3. Witch Ripper- The four piece Seattleite’s heavy sludge travels between elevating prog trips and atmospheric metal riffage. With patience in their construction of worlds.

4. Mos Generator- “if there’s such a thing as fusing some soul into a doom palette, MOS GENERATOR has achieved that.” Encapsulating heavy rock in the pnw,, it glides on fog above. Vocalist Tony Reed gives an almost Ozzy feel to the songs.

5. Wyoming Young and Strong- Song and story delivered by Stoner Rock. Their band name is shared by the titular character that travels through the music. Unrelenting riffage bent on recovering home lost to ancient titans.

Thanks for being here,, we’re excited to release Hidden Shrines of the Heavy Riff Kind Vol. III to you 1.11.24 on Spotify!
