Hey guys, I forgot to mention earlier, if you tried to visit my site on a mobile device like a cell phone or tablet, it won't display right. I'm still working creating the mobile layout and will be rolling it out soon. If you view it on a laptop or desktop, it will display just fine. It will also probably be fine on a larger tablet in portrait mode.

Just in case you are using a mobile device, I'm going to add a screen capture of my site. This photo is exactly what you would see right now if you visited my site.

Hi friends! Today, I'm excited to announce the official re-launch of Caleb Rush Web Design. I'm still just getting started, but I want to use this page to keep everyone updated on my progress and to reach out to friends, family, and community to meet their needs for the web.

I do have my website set up. It's just in it's beginning stage. There's not much on it. But I plan on adding a lot of content and usability to it this week.

I know it's a weird URL, but I'm using free hosting while I'm still in the prototyping stage. Soon, I'll set up a custom domain that will be a little easier to navigate to. Also, if you're trying to view this on a mobile device or tablet, it won't display right. I'm still working on building the mobile layout. I'll be rolling it out soon.

I just want to ask you to visit my site and tell me what you think of it so far. Especially if you're someone who has a good eye for graphic design or have some UI/UX experience!

The mobile layout is now finished and live! The desktop and tablet layouts still need some work so if your viewing on one of those larger screens things may look a bit funny. I was really hoping to be completely finished today but issues with my hosting provider set me back a couple hours. Nevertheless, I'm very close having the whole thing finished. Hi, friends. I've been on hiatus for awhile continuing to grow and develop my skills. I'm currently in the process of overhauling my professional website and I want to give you guys a chance to see it and provide some input.

A few notes...

I'm using Wix.com as a design tool for mock-ups while I learn the ins and outs of PhotoShop. That's where this link will take you. Once I have the design finished, I will transfer it to an HTML-based website and host it under my permanent domain. (That probably made zero sense to 90% of you, but that's ok!)

This is also still an early draft. Some things are unfinished. You will see a lot of dummy text and buttons. Some elements like my portfolio gallery are not present at all yet.

The menu at the top is also broken (and ugly) so the links will not work. Once I transfer this to my permanent site, I'm going to completely redesign the menu. Wix.com just won't let me do what I need right now.

The mobile version looks OK right now, however Wix.com sites are not fully responsive so it may look kinda funny on a tablet or a large phone in landscape view. My permanent site will be completely responsive which means it will look awesome on any screen size.

What I would love is some real, critical feedback - especially from those of you who are design-minded or have experience in design/development. What do you think of the layout? How about the color scheme, fonts, and graphics? How is the user-experience? Does it lack any crucial pieces etc.?

Ok, friends. As a brand new Web Designer, the most important thing in the world for me is experience. Experience and portfolio material. As a designer, my portfolio is essentially my resume. Without lots of beautiful websites in my portfolio, I have no way of showing off what I can do and have no way of establishing credibility with potential clients.

This is why I'm going to design a website for just $100 dollars for the first person who contacts me. I'm almost working at a loss at that price. But the experience of working with real clients and building real-world sites is worth far more to me than the money.

So if you or anyone you know is in need of a spiffy new website, please contact me so you have your shot at a $100 site. It could be a personal site, a blog, small business, church, or organization. Pretty much anything!
