We just launched something we're proud of.

Vrabode is a collection of eighteen homes on Martha's Vineyard, and the brief was simple to say and hard to do: give the owners their guests back. Every booking that runs through a listing platform takes a cut and keeps the relationship. We built a site where people book direct, with the folks who actually keep these houses.

We built it in Next.js instead of a page builder. In plain terms, that means availability pulls live from their booking system, pages load in a fraction of a second, and the whole thing is built to be found in search rather than bolted on afterward. We also carried every URL over from their old site, so nothing they'd earned in Google over the years got thrown away in the move.

The art direction came from the island. Weathered, elegant, unhurried. No stock-photo beach blue, no countdown timers, nothing shouting.

Freshened this page up today, so an introduction is overdue.

I'm Damien. I build websites for small businesses, and I just moved the whole operation to St. Augustine.

"Your content should be as exciting as your business." I've believed that since I started. Underneath every website and every blog, there's a story, and most small businesses are sitting on a much better one than they're telling.

Fifteen years of design and SEO. A BFA in Fine Arts and Multimedia Design underneath it. Hundreds of small business sites on top. WordPress, Next.js, SEO that actually ranks, and content that reads as if a person wrote it, because I'm the one who wrote it.

Lately, that's pulled me into AI and automation. Not as a buzzword. As a way to hand off the busywork: lead follow-up, content production, booking admin. The stuff that eats your week and keeps you from selling.

Where it shows up: direct-booking sites for vacation rental owners tired of handing Airbnb a cut. A feature story that made it to Indigenous New York Fashion Week. And a lot of small, unglamorous sites doing steady work for people who just needed the phone to ring.

If your site sits there looking pretty and doesn't bring in business, that's the thing I fix.
