Our Chief Strategy Officer David Burfiend and our Chief Creative Office Matt O’Rourke both arrived at our new positioning in separate rooms on the same day. That’s when they knew we had it.

Ideas with Consequences.

It’s the philosophy we bring to all of our work. Our big ideas are driven by a singular desired outcome. Whether they’re meant to change minds, change culture, or change behaviors, each consequence is just that. Change.

What’s your brand’s consequence?

“We’re not as divided as we keep telling ourselves.”

Our CEO Leeann Leahy shared that POV in Amelie Bourdages’ 2027 outlook on marketing trends. It’s a refreshing reframe of a story we’ve all gotten a little too comfortable telling.

Here’s how she puts it: “We’re not as divided as we keep telling ourselves. Sure, the pollsters say we can’t stand each other, but ‘divided’ is the easy story. Finding new reasons to love each other is what we’re actually doing.”

And honestly? This summer keeps proving her right.

New York Knicks 🏀 got hot and for a few weeks it felt like we were all from the same city, cheering for the same team. Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce, and even the too-cool-for-it crowd leaned all the way in to the festivities and the chatter online. Moment after moment, we keep choosing to come together.

So here’s Leeann’s bet for the back half of the year: the brands that matter won’t force their way into these cultural moments. They’ll show up as authentic supporting characters instead of trying to be the whole point. Love and togetherness will be the flags brands wave.

Head to the link in our bio for a roundup of industry voices and their specific predictions for 2027 based on what they’re seeing in the market right now.

Meet the Summer Intern Class of 2026

Tess grew up in Washington State and first came to Maine for undergrad Colby College, where she was an English major. Following graduation, she went to pastry school in Switzerland in anticipation of her mid-life crisis. After being harassed by chocolates in Belgium, she came back to Maine to work at Belleville for their cardamom buns. Meanwhile, she developed a crush on VIA. Most recently, she finished The Denver Ad School as a remote student in Seattle, where she ran a cottage bakery and got to pet her dog, Russell, often.

Toni is a recent Advertising graduate from the Robert Busch School of Design Kean University in Union, New Jersey. She recently competed in the One Club’s AI Creative Challenge and participated in the Adobe Launch Your Creative Career Mentorship Program. She also teaches Graphic Design remotely Middlesex Community College and enjoys paying it forward to the next generation of creative minds. When not making magic in the design and advertising world, she can be found frolicking through a national park (she visited 14 last year!), kayaking down the nearest river, or hanging off the side of a mountain.

Joseph is an editor and director who attended Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, where he majored in Screenwriting. He is passionate about using editing to tell stories. Outside of work, you might find him making short films or playing chess.

Dim is a recent University of Oregon graduate and Art Direction intern at VIA. She’s originally from Myanmar, and a lot of her creative work is inspired by storytelling, culture, illustration, and emotionally grounded ideas that connect people. Outside of design, she loves drawing, film, music, and finding new coffee spots.

Lexy just graduated from University of Michigan where she studied business Ross School of Business with a minor in UX design. She’s from Michigan and has spent the last couple of summers as a camp counselor there. Listening to podcasts (specifically How I Built This), inspired her interest in the world of business. Now she has her own podcast, really riveting where she talks about lots of fun stuff.

Andie grew up hauling lobster traps on the coast of Columbia, Maine, where she learned

“Free Finds You” doesn’t feel like a grocery ad, and that was exactly the point.

Other grocers talk about money off, but we’re talking about FREE products. Chicken in a glovebox, baguette in the pocket, and lettuce as a bowling ball...what’s next? We want the shoppers to find out.

07/09/2026

Why does finding $5 in your pocket feel better than saving $50? It’s the thrill of the discovery. And that thrill is the insight that inspired the strategy behind “Free Finds You,” the latest expression of ’ “Nicely Done” platform.

The campaign imagines a world where free products don’t wait to be claimed; they show up uninvited, in the best possible way.

myBigY Rewards doesn’t feel like other rewards programs.

The biggest difference is that shoppers’ rewards can be applied to gas savings at the pump. Like other loyalty programs, myBigY account still delivers personalization based on shopping behavior and relevant offers, but more flexibility on how you choose to use your earned rewards.

An exceptional program deserves an exceptional campaign, and “Free Finds You” is just that: a fun approach to the thrill of unexpected wins.
