Soft guidance for hard technological times.

“Tech for Tender Weirdos” is a new offering through ion wray media focused on helping creative people, nonprofits, and small businesses navigate modern tech without the hustle-tech burnout. Whether you need quick app recommendations, AI workflow help, branding guidance, editing systems, social media strategy, camera/audio setup, or collaborative creative support, these sessions are designed to reduce overwhelm and reconnect people with possibility.

From 20-minute “Tech Triage” sessions to deeper collaborative consulting, the goal is simple: ethical, human-centered tech support for artists, goofballs, filmmakers, organizers, and community-minded creatives.

Portland-based. DIY-minded. Non tech-bro energy.

Awesome watching carve out their unique sonic stylings at last night. His sound is very Peter Gabriel meets with a few other great tones and textures. I also saw catching some cool shots for and his team. Reminds me of when I saw back on Belmont & 33rd in 2007ish.

Behind the scenes of “The Conjuring Door” our film for this year’s 48HR Horror / Sci-Fi competition. This year we went full tilt! (Link in bio for tickets - Hollywood Theatre - Sunday at 9:30pm)

As team leader and editor, it’s a constant balance not to step on toes while pushing boundaries toward something ambitious. Making a film at this level in 48 hours takes serious stamina, precision, confidence, determination, and the kind of resilience that can look a little unhinged from the outside. But we did it, and did it well! Congrats team!

Huge thank you to my cast and crew for your patience, grace, and willingness to keep raising the bar. It’s fu***ng wild to attempt work at this caliber on that timeline, but that’s what makes it exciting. A citywide challenge that can lead to global competition is no small thing. Respect to every team out there still recovering today!

The resulting film? The Conjuring Door is absolutely sick. Fun, emotional, and reaching up to stay alive against all odds, even if there are some casualties. The writing by cinematography by score by and performances by and all land so well and that’s because our cast and crew freaking brought it!

This was my 6th 48 in 5 years. The full genre competition this summer will be my last run at trying to reach Cannes through this festival. My plan: produce the entire 7-minute film in one shot. We’ll see who’s wild enough to join that mission.

Most of all, our team, Radical Softies (new and old members alike) has become a real community of filmmakers and creatives who believe in challenging nonsense. Not always by fighting head-on, but by making bold, strange, beautiful things that keep wonder and wild abandon alive. Special thanks to for taking some great BTS along with some additional shots by cast and crew!

What a lineup tonight at RISE! Brought to you by and . So grateful to earn 3rd place as editor of our micro doc Salt And Pepper with Cheryl Willis as producer and director. Huge congrats to everyone who screened and it was so nice seeing a few familiar faces. created the shot used in my logo, so it was fun to surprise him with that 🎞️😉

Please also check out the 1st place film There’s A Devil Inside Me by and the 2nd place film Help Solve A Murder by Mary Matthews, and . Both are powerful pieces rooted in creativity and community. Help Solve A Murder invites us to take concrete steps here in Portland as we raise awareness around gun violence and the disproportionate and unbalanced justice faced by underserved communities. It is a film we should all sit with.

Also go follow the creators of Leaders of Men by , Cockroach by , Controlling The Narrative by , House On Fire by and Rash by . Incredible work across the board. Truly one of the best screening blocks I have ever attended, let alone been part of.

As a non binary person in film, who believes that patriarchal, light skinned stories, often about cis relationships, are as tired as billionaire board meetings, I am thrilled to see real films and real voices breaking into the industry if not creating their own industry when a larger one no longer serves them. I said what I said.
