Gwen Montoya You don’t need another course. You need a marketing plan that makes sense.

Strategy > hope.

When I create a marketing plan, I start by reviewing analytics everywhere (social media, email marketing, SEO, website traffic) and having a deep discussion about goals & priorities.

Then I go through each marketing channel and build a plan with those goals and metrics in mind - so my clients know where to focus, what they can ignore, and why it matters.

It is important to know your strengths & weaknesses 😂

Messaging + content is magic.

Business owners aren’t lacking in ideas or plans, but they do get stuck on the ex*****on piece and, even more importantly, knowing what (and how and why) they share will lead to more clients.

This is a facilitated exercise we do together, so I’m able to ask questions and build it with them (plus take notes of the smart things they say without realizing it)!

Social media matters, it isn’t going away, but it isn’t the only marketing you should be doing and it shouldn’t take up all of your marketing time.

05/11/2026

Here’s the why (because it is all connected):

1. Their own website - their own words, branding, and info that no one can take away and no social media algorithm to fight with.

2. Email marketing to stay connected with people interested in their offer. Sending something via email means your audience will actually see it.

3. Networking or collabs to build referrals (especially with complimentary businesses). Building community with people who offer similar services/products is good for business and good for remembering you’re not alone.

4. SEO (search engine optimization) to get found by new people. Super important for local businesses. Huge topic, but it matters and MOST businesses don’t bother (or know how).

5. Clear messaging and connected marketing to remove extra steps (and wasted time).

Ready for marketing that is connected to your big picture goals? Let’s talk!

Ways to market your business without relying on social media

In so many ways it is easier to reach your audience, and in others it feels like the little tasks never end.

I’ve been around since before social media - this is a huge improvement over how it used to be (even if I grumble about it sometimes 😂)

And, yes, even as a marketing strategist - marketing can be a lot and I’m never going to brush over the concerns and overwhelm my clients feel sometimes - because we’re humans, managing businesses, managing our lives, and living in a very weird time.

I wish more business owners used these tools!
