An interesting map is doing the rounds this week about most widely spoken languages in the various U.S. states. Too bad that it's evidently wrong on quite a few counts.

Seems there's some big to-do at the idea of Marvel creating a female version of their Thor character. Evidently a lot of people are all in a huff as to if this can be done and would it work and blah blah blah.

Funny, kinda seems like it's a little late for this.

How many years ago was the X-Men's Storm a weather goddess? And how many years back was her "Almighty Storm" created? Complete with Norse costume and hammer?

Okay, *calling* a female character "Thor" might be a new thing.

But a Norse mythos female god(ess) of thunder?

A longstanding badass.

And maybe worth a little more acknowledgement as such.
