Since as long as we’ve been creating websites, we’ve been looking for ways to make them editable by our clients. (Anyone remember Ladybug?) Recently, we rebuilt the Swiss Water® Process website on Shopify 2.0, and one part that’s thrilling to all of us has really nothing to do with the way it looks. Their team can update so much on the site themselves now!

That sounds simple enough, but on an older Shopify theme, the homepage is the only page you can really edit. Product pages, collections, about page, etc are all locked into a fixed template. Want to add a section? Rearrange a layout for a seasonal push? This becomes a developer task every time.

Shopify 2.0 changes that. So much more is not undateable by anyone on the team. They are publishing content, updating products, and building pages on their own. No ticket. No queue. No waiting on someone else. That’s a win worth celebrating.

NEW CASE STUDY / has quietly perfected chemical-free decaffeination for over 30 years. After transforming their brand last year, they brought us back to redesign and rebuild their website on Shopify 2.0. A glimpse into a quick 48 hours in San Diego. This year’s was a reminder of how incredibly lucky we are to be able to work with the people we’ve met through coffee!

Needmore turned 22 this week which has us feeling awfully nostalgic about all the people who have helped make this little studio what it is today. We also got to visit Literary Arts bookstore and were reminded of the power of stories to connect us all. (Literary Arts is one of the few clients that pre-date even the founding of Needmore, if you can believe that.) What a week!

Wild to think of the Belmont location closing after 25 years. Lot of good memories there. Working with many of these characters. Trading shots for shots with the Alto Lounge. Closing the place with . Seeing . Meeting .

Anyhow…we dug up a few photos from early days there along with an early logo we designed. Good times!
