Instagram's Reposts function seems to be a feature nobody asked for.

Where exactly do those Reposts go? The official line from Meta is:

- Reposts will be in a separate tab on your profile
- Reposts will also be recommended to your friends’ and followers’ feeds

Reports seem to be, well, a bit mixed on that second point, however. Users have reported not seeing reposts from their friends on their home feeds, and not being notified when others have reposted their content.

The bigger issue, however, is the low effort – and low visibility – that comes with the Repost function. Reposts are tempting because they’re such a low-effort way to share content you appreciate. But, remember, on social low effort equals low reward. This means you, and the accounts you support, may end up seeing LESS exposure with Reposts, rather than more.

Who’s the Main Character in Your Website?

Imagine your potential client is on a quest to find a magical object. One that will solve their particular problem. Are you the one who holds this magical object?

Well, maybe. I mean, it’s kind of hard for them to tell... The sign you put out seems to be pointing toward what they need. But it’s mainly talking about some wizard and how great she is. There’s not much information about the magical object they need, just a list of this wizard's credentials and some vague testimonials.

This is what happens when you try to be the main character on your website.

But you’re not the main character here – your client is! Your role is to be the all-knowing wizard that helps the REAL main character find what they need.

Your about page is where you can go into more detail about how you started your business and why it matters. But keep the focus on your customer and why it's relevant to them.

What would your client want to know about you? Offer some background information, but don’t tell your whole life story. You can definitely throw in some fun facts or personal information – you want to be approachable – but avoid telling stories that your customer won’t care about.

If you need some help tamping down the main character energy on your website, we’re the friendly website wizards you’re looking for! Head over to our website to book a consultation.

According to ASAN, the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, AI is already taking away jobs from people with disabilities – specifically, people who are only able to secure work writing plain language.

Plain language is a type of writing that prioritizes accessibility. It’s typically written at a 6th-grade reading level, and uses words that most folks can easily understand. Its goal is to convey information quickly and clearly, often for people with disabilities.

But more and more, AI is being tasked with writing copy for plain language, and it shows in the end results. Too often, AI copy contains incomplete fragments of ideas, or gives a word a new meaning in an attempt to "simplify" copy.

Up until now, plain language has worked because people with disabilities have been key participants in writing it. Their lived experience informs how they write plain language copy, and makes sure it continues to be a helpful tool.

AI does not and will never have lived experience, and it fundamentally doesn’t understand the audience it’s writing for.

How else have you noticed AI harming vulnerable populations? Let us know in the comments.

If you’re thinking about a new website, you might think it’s just about design elements – colors, fonts, logos, et cetera. While these elements are certainly important, content is what drives everything. Your offering should take center stage.

Consider your website as your virtual storefront. If someone were to walk into your shop or office, what kind of experience would you want them to have? You wouldn't force a potential customer to wade through piles of boxes just to talk to you!

As you embark on your website design project, be clear about what you want your website to feature, and how you want your clients to engage with you.

With that in mind, how can your website eliminate some extra steps for the customer?

Making your contact information accessible and easy to find is an good start.

Another best practice is to consider thoughtful questions for your contact form that speed up the onboarding process.

Functionalities like online scheduling or payment portals can also get folks working with you quicker.

When you started your business, you didn’t plan to spend all of your energy on sales calls. Sometimes, just the idea of trying to persuade someone to buy can send your anxiety levels to the moon.

Wouldn’t it be cool if you had a way to warm up your prospects so they’re 75% sold before they even talk to you?

Good news: your website can do exactly that!… IF you have a well-crafted sales page.

The trouble is, when you’re working on a sales page or landing page, a lot of the same feelings might come up as when you do sales calls. Are you being too high-pressure or annoying? Are you overloading them with information?

To get your thoughts focused, start with these core points:

1) How did they find you?

2) Highlight how your client will feel once their problem is solved.

3) What’s the experience of working with you like?

By thinking about these key points, not only can you make your landing pages more useful, they can also help you stay connected to a more genuine voice. Your audience’s feelings matter and they want to know how much you care.

Struggling with how to make these adjustments? Chat with our team about a strategy to refresh your website, or maybe even a complete overhaul!

Lately, our clients have been reluctant to advertise on Meta. Who can blame them?!

We're here to let you know, though, that there IS another way – LinkedIn ads. Sure, LinkedIn can be a tough nut to crack. But, LinkedIn ads can give you a more comprehensive taste of what the platform has to offer your business.

The numbers tell us that LinkedIn ads and boosted posts are often more cost effective than buying an ad on Meta! This is probably because LinkedIn is used less frequently as a platform to advertise on.

That’s GREAT news if you’re a service-based business or consultant, though: Less popular = less competitive = more eyes on your ad.

And (bonus!) you'll get real, actionable analytics data afterwards – rather than the inflated mumbo jumbo Meta keeps trying to pass off as "accurate data."

That being said, don't put all your eggs in one basket. It's still a smart idea to diversify your online advertising. Try a few Google ads here, a LinkedIn ad there, a promotional marketing email, or a series of social media posts.

And, remember to warm up your audience first with engaging, insightful LinkedIn content, before you try to sell your offering to them.

We peeked at a Buffer report from July about the best performing content formats for each social platform. And, because we love digging into the data ourselves, we then compared Buffer's findings with our own client data from 2025.

Our findings and Buffer's agree that:
- Instagram prefers Reels, but posts do pretty dang well too–especially carousel posts!
- Facebook likes posts best, with a photo or graphic
- LinkedIn wants carousel posts most of all

If making content isn't really your jam right now, we can help you out with that. Check out the Full Meal Deal to see how we can guide you toward building your audience, cultivating trust in your work, and moving you towards your fanciest business goals.
