I had the privilege of attending my 16+ year friend and client's (David Bigelow of Bigelow Tea) wake last week. It was a heartfelt event with 100s of people. The family created a series of vignette "stations" depicting different parts/aspects of David's full life (veteran, family man, etc.). I especially loved the exhibit of David's experience as a master tea blender (photos attached), including a bowl of the last Constant Comment tea he blended (the recipe is a family secret!). David called me to thank us for our campaigns and TV commercials for Bigelow and even signed his book for me! We'll all miss you, David Bigelow.

Sorry to hear that last Tuesday, David C. Bigelow, the 2nd generation head of R.C. Bigelow Tea, passed. David was a client and friend to me and my agency for nearly 20 years. He was kind, humble, and an instinctively great marketer. My condolences to his wife, Eunice, daughter Cindi (now the 3rd generation to helm the company), and all his family. Thanks and condolences go to Bob Kelley, who first introduced us to David and the Bigelow family. I'll always cherish the personal phone calls David made to me to talk tea marketing strategy, compliment the work we were doing together, and his excitement every time he saw a new TV spot we produced on the air. Last Fall, when we were shooting a commercial, he came to the set with Eunice and proudly announced that Bigelow had become the #1 tea in America! We'll miss you, David.
