Back in April I was made aware of the huge projects that are coming to the area. I was excited, so of course I made videos about it. Far before the local press even knew what was happening. I sent the emails, I made the phone calls. I annoyed, I bugged, I asked. They answered.
Then came the flood of comments and DM's about what the "A-plant" DID to Piketon. So I researched and AGAIN. . . I sent emails, I made the phone calls. I annoyed, I bugged, I asked. They answered.
I just talked about why it exists, what that they produced there, and what it's now becoming. Well in order for it to produce something, it also had to release something. So let's talk about it.

I've driven up and down 23 west of that tree line that hides the former Portsmouth gaseous diffusion plant and had ZERO idea what occurred back there. My childhood best friends aunt survived cancer working there. My fathers close friend shares the same story. I have friends that work there now for Centrus and SOCCo and shortly after making videos about the development coming, people from Pike county started pouring their hearts out to me about what they've have witnessed and been through for decades working at or living by the plant.
So before I go down the rabbit hole of what came from that site and for it to make sense I first have to speak on WHY the plant exists, what it created, and what's being built there now. Once it makes sense. . . ALL OF IT, you'll understand what their elected officials are fighting for.

SB Energy, OpenAI, Oklo, Nvidia…
These are names I NEVER thought I’d hear associated with my hometown.
I’ve watched Squawk Box almost every weekday for six years. I know these companies inside and out. So when massive development started happening just 22 miles from my house, I started making videos for two reasons:
1️⃣ I’m obsessed with the markets.
2️⃣ NO ONE outside the Ports-Pike development actually knew what was going on.
The more phone calls I made, emails I sent, and local coffee I bought to get answers, the clearer things became. I wasn't getting hype, hope, or doom-and-gloom. They were giving me FACTS.
In this area, people are used to big corporate promises falling through. They want to believe the hype, but they also want the truth.
The deeper I dug, the more I realized people in Pike County are still carrying real pain from past promises. But seeing how local leaders are stepping up changed my perspective. Growing up with a mom involved in Leadership Portsmouth, starting the Southern Ohio Senior Games and now on Portsmouth city council, I know the difference between officials who just want a title and people who do the REAL work because they care.
Over the past few months I've witnessed that real work in Piketon. People in the trenches, fighting to make sure we get it right this time. I want to be a part of that fight so I went inside the room where these decisions are being made. decisions designed to protect this county and positively affect this region long beyond my lifetime.

I have received a ton of DM's & texts from people who spend almost no time on Facebook but were sent my videos from someone. So I created a YouTube channel for them. I'll continue to make this series exclusively for the people that live in this region to be informed and post it HERE because life is about to change for ALL of us, whether good or bad is completely up to YOU!

I hear EVERY SINGLE DAY. . . "I had NO idea until I seen your videos." and that's the entire point of why I'm making this series. If you have questions, topics you want to hear about regarding the ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, HOUSING, INFRASTRUCTURE & GOVERNMENT impact then send them our way. We respond.

Does progress have a price tag? What's the number? 35,000+ construction jobs, over 3,500 permanent high paying jobs and Billions in revenue spent in a 25mile stretch of southern Ohio YEARLY? With more development to come, in my excitement it has felt like we're dancing on the graves of people who died and in front of those that are still fighting for compensation for the last boom this place had. I hope we don't forget those people as we progress forward.
