I heard a fun and informative talk at CreativeMornings Spokane by Rob Curley of the The Spokesman-Review on the roof of the Chronicle Building, downtown Spokane. Then I stopped in for some time in the trees before heading back to my studio.

"I just need a logo."

We’ve all heard it before—and sometimes, a single logo is enough. But often, businesses don’t realize how much more they might need until they see the full picture.

A responsive logo suite, custom illustrations, and repeat patterns aren’t just "extras"—they’re tools to ensure consistency, adaptability, and professionalism across every touchpoint. A standalone logo can work, but a holistic brand system scales with your business.

A logo is a great start, but a full brand system ensures you’re ready for everything—social media, merch, signage, and beyond. It’s not just about the mark; it’s about how it works for you.

Great post from LinkedIn that sums it up perfectly.

🌟 Embracing the Beauty of Priest Lake 🌲
Hey friends! This weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Granite Creek Marina at Priest Lake. 😍 The whole experience was incredibly restorative to my artistic self, and I can't thank my friend enough for inviting my family to stay here by the lake. 🙏💕
As a passionate artist, I find inspiration all around me, and this place is pure magic! 🎨✨ While my boys, hubby and I enjoyed the lake view, I drew in my sketchbook, and let my creativity flow.
Priest Lake's serene beauty never ceases to amaze me, and sketching here is like a dream come true. 🌊⛰️
We also embarked on scenic drives, and I brought my camera gear to capture a few of the breathtaking landscapes that Priest Lake area has to offer. 📸🏞️
What's your favorite place to find inspiration? 🌈💫

This is an interesting read, it's a review of my first camera, the Nikon N8008s. I still have it. It came out in 1988, and I bought it my first semester of college in 1991. I went to the University of Washington in Seattle. I was in the Fine Art program taking photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, and metal works. My first love was photography, and those became my majority of classes. I was thrilled when I had my portfolio review and got accepted into the Photography program. It was limited to a few students. I loved the whole process, from shooting to printing the images in the chemical darkroom. It was all like magic. Photography still feels like magic.

Not all of Nikon's AF 35mm SLRs are as well known or lusted after as the F100. Aaron Gold looks at the N8008/F-801, a camera still flying under the radar.

Merry Christmas everyone! This screen capture video is for an epub that I designed and created in Adobe InDesign. I found images of a cabin, a pretty winter scene, some animals and hats and scarves and used Adobe Photoshop to cut the cabin door and door handle, make curtains and dress the animals. I used Adobe InDesign animation to have the elements move. Then I paired the actions with music to have a Christmas scene epub. Enjoy. Not shown: The 2nd page is earlier in the afternoon when the animals are practicing.

Merry Christmas! This is an e-pub designed in Adobe InDesign using animations. I started with a photo of a cabin interior and used Adobe Photoshop to cut o...
