U.S. CATTLE REPORT 🥩 Understanding Beef Imports: Trends, Totals, and Top Trade Partners 🌍🌍

The United States has imported 3.4 billion pounds of beef through July this year, compared to 2.6 billion pounds during the same period last year. In 2024, total beef imports reached a record-breaking 4.6 billion pounds—the first time in history that U.S. imports exceeded 4 billion pounds in a single year.

Since 1989, the United States has imported 106.2 billion pounds of beef. Over that time, the U.S. has averaged 2.86 billion pounds of beef imports annually. The top sources of imported beef have been Australia, followed by Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Nicaragua. Notably, the U.S. has imported 3.26 billion pounds of beef from Argentina alone during that period.

Thank you to all of the bidders on our show circuit sale! We weaned 70 more calves and are going to put together a very nice group of replacement heifers that we will have for sale private treaty and we have 10 to 15 club calves that are really coming on hard now so keep an eye out for another show circuit sale coming up!

We’ve saved some of the best for last! Be sure to scroll all the way down. A number of these calves are full sibs to our Grand Champion Steer AND Heifer we had at the NILE this year! They are VERY gentle this year with our 5 boys helping feed & work with them daily and some are show ready! Check out their videos the pictures don’t do them justice, nothing fazed them so it was difficult to get them excited for a picture. We have a trailer going to eastern Iowa after Thanksgiving so can get them there no charge and can work with you on trucking for any where else they need to go.
